Sampathram plays a serious role in “Kandhara Chapter-1”
I am very happy that I, Sampathram, have played a major role in the film “Kandhara Chapter-1”, which has been released all over the world and has become a huge success. I am happy and proud that I have played a complete character, a leader of the hill people, in this film, even though I have few scenes.
I have acted in the film ‘Kandhara Chapter-1’ in a different look. I will be wearing black color makeup all over my face and body, especially on my face, to show my old age. It takes one and a half hours to apply the makeup. It takes one and a half hours to remove it. In total, two and a half hours have to be allotted for makeup.
I have worked very hard in this film. I am very grateful to director Rishabh Shetty for giving me this opportunity.
I am proud that I have also acted in such a big pan-India film.
I first acted in a Kannada film called ‘Cyanide’. It was directed by A.M.R. Ramesh. When I acted in his next film ‘Veerappan Attahasa’, Rishabh Shetty worked as the last assistant in that film. Since then, we started dating.
He also came to our house when he came to Chennai. Then, when his film ‘Kandhara’ came out, I called him to praise him. After seeing the first look poster of ‘Kandhara Chapter-1’, I called him a year ago and told him that I would be happy if I acted in this film. Director Rishabh Shetty called me immediately and gave me an opportunity. He always calls me Master. My character’s name in the film Cyanide is Suresh Master.
He called me and did an hour and a half of makeup for the film and signed me. I have been traveling for almost a year for this film. I have acted for 26 days. I have acted for three days every month.
At least 500 people and up to 2000 people will work on the shoot every day. With a large crowd, at a huge cost, and with great effort, everyone including the director worked very hard on ‘Kandhara Chapter-1’
I am very happy that this film has been released now, has received a lot of response from the fans, is doing well, and I also play an important role in it. Once again, I would like to thank director Rishabh Shetty, said actor Sampathram!
