Prabhu Solomon ‘s Kumki (2012) was a smash hit that was hailed both critically and commercially.
After a decade ‘s time, this part 2, bears resemblance only with respect to the title, the common denominator of both being the maker ‘s focus on man-animal relationship!
With no notable or noteworthy cast to boast of, Prabhu Solomon has laid full focus on the relationship between a little boy with no proper parentage and a calf elephant!
Their relationship thickens with the passage of time as they both grow up but fate plays a game in between and the duo gets thrown apart!
Bhumi (Mathi) goes in search of Nila (elephant) and is shocked to find out that it is marked for sacrifice by a bunch of selfish politicians!
A sound engineer (Sritha Rao) enters the scene of action but only in the latter half!
Arjun Das plays a stylish role but the director ‘s dilemma, whether to showcase him as a baddie or not is evident! Still, Arjun Das makes an impact.
M. Sukumar ‘s cinematography is of high standards but the same cannot be said of Nivas K. Prasanna ‘s score.
The focus of man-animal relationship is the fine point of this flick!
