Many leading heroes from the South Indian film industry have recently converted their superhit films a few years ago into digital formats and re-released, and are receiving a good response from the fans. In this regard, the 2014 film Anjaan directed by N. Lingusamy starring Suriya has been converted into digital formats in 4K technology and will be re-released in theaters across Tamil Nadu on November 28th. Not only that, the film is now being re-edited and the length of the film is being significantly reduced.
Suriya, Samantha, Vidyut Jammwal, Manoj Bajpayee, Soori, Murali Sharma and many other actors have played the lead roles. The film, which has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography by Santhosh Sivan, and editing by Antony, was produced by producer N. Subhash Chandra Bose in association with Tirupati Brothers – UTV Motion Pictures.
Director Lingusamy shared many details about why the film is being re-released now and why it has been re-edited at the press conference of the film.

“When this film was first shot, it was 2 hours and 36 minutes long. Now we have reduced it to 36 minutes. A film will not be good if it is reduced in length alone. At the same time, reducing the length is not our intention. But when you watch the film, you will understand its necessity. The reason for re-editing and re-releasing this film now is that this film was the first to be caught in a lot of trolls when it was released 11 years ago.
At the same time, many people who really enjoyed the film have told me separately why they criticized this film so much even after watching it now. I am not saying this is a global epic that will change the world of cinema.. This is a film. That is all. Everything Suriya fans wanted to see Suriya on screen, it has come in this film, and it was only because the Tirupati Brothers were behind the scenes that we were able to make this film on such a big budget. We shot for 120 days only in Mumbai and Goa.
At that time, Tirupati Brothers were giving many films in a row like Koli Soda, Manjabpai, Kumki, and even consecutive successes would make some people angry, hateful, and jealous. Those who had criticized us in the first place are now criticizing all their films without mercy. I am not afraid now. Are they going to criticize us now more than they did 11 years ago? Besides, trolling alone cannot stop the success of a film. What would these trolls have done if films like Run and Sandakozhi had come out then? If people wanted it, they could not stop the flow of the film.
At the same time, there is a mistake on my side. I do not want to blame them for giving a 100% perfect film and people ignored it. I have to admit it sincerely. I have also made some mistakes in this film. They have made it many times bigger.. I did not make the film to deceive the fans. Sometimes we ourselves get deceived.

I loved this film very much. At the same time, not all films achieve success like Run, Anandham, Sandakozhi. Even Mani Ratnam and Shankar are widely criticized. When there were many companies like Shankar’s S Pictures, our Thirupathi Brothers, we gave them good films. We introduced new directors.
When the release date of Anjaan was announced, I did not even have time to work on the two parts of this film. I had to screen this film for all my friends. I showed it. When someone is on a winning streak, even those around them will step aside, wondering why they should be giving him advice, because he doesn’t know. That happened to me too. We have re-edited this digital version keeping the shortcomings in mind. We have not removed any of the characters of any of the actors in it by calculating that there should be so much. We have re-edited the film according to the smooth flow of the story.
