‘Dear Rathi’ is produced by Insomniacs Dream Creations LLP and Lockline Pictures, which produced the movie ‘Iruti Paakko’. The movie is directed by Praveen K Mani, who worked as an assistant director on ‘Iruti Paakko’.
Talking about what the story of the film is about, the director says,
“In today’s environment, if a man or woman seeks a friend of the opposite sex who is of the same mind as him, it is easy to achieve it. It is difficult to even make that friendship love. Maintaining it is not easy, it is very difficult. A young man who is hesitant to talk to others – especially women – meets a woman at a beauty salon like a spa and takes her out for a ‘dating’. On the same day, the police are chasing the woman on one side and a rowdy gang on the other. Those who go out get caught up in problems.
What kind of problem is that? How did they face it? This is the story of the film ‘Dear Rathi’.
How do today’s generation struggle to maintain their love life? What are the difficulties and problems they face? What should be done to fix it? This film ‘Dear Rathi’ has been developed as a ‘romantic comedy’ to tell us.” He says.
Saravana Vikram plays the lead role in the film. He played the role of Kannan in the series ‘Pandyan Stores’ and was in the Bigg Boss show for 84 days. This is his debut film. Hasli Aman plays the female lead. He played Kathir in the Malayalam film ‘Meesha’ and is coming to Tamil through this film. Rajesh Balachandran, who plays the villain, not only studied at an acting training college but also provides acting training to many people. He is the one who designed the body language for the character played by Sivakarthikeyan in the film ‘Madraasi’. Along with them, Sai Dinesh Badram, Yuvaraj Subramanian and others act.
The music for the film is composed by Jones Rupert. He has composed the music for the films ‘Poriyalan’ and ‘Sattam En Kaiy’. Lokesh Elangovan is the cinematographer. He worked as an assistant cinematographer in the film ‘Naisekar’ and as one of the cinematographers of the film ‘Harhara’.
Prem .B has edited the film. He is making his debut in this film after working as an assistant film editor for Selva RK. Art direction is by Jai J. Dileep,
