On the occasion of JioHotstar South Unbound, JioStar Leadership Team met Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M.K. Stalin!!
JioStar Head Entertainment Business, South Cluster, Krishnan Kutty, JioStar Executive Vice President – Tamil Balachandran R, and CEO – Turmeric Media R. Mahendran, today met Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Mr. M.K. Stalin in person and briefed him about the upcoming JioHotstar South Unbound event.
In this meeting, the team shared with the Chief Minister several aspects such as the purpose of the event and the impact it will create in promoting South Indian culture. Further, the key points of the ‘Letter of Engagement’ agreement were also presented and the team confirmed JioStar’s support in efforts such as developing talent, increasing training opportunities, and strengthening the creative sector in collaboration with film and media education institutions in Tamil Nadu.
The JioHotstar South Unbound event, to be held in Chennai on December 9, 2025, is a major event celebrating South Indian cinema and creativity. Leading directors, creators and talents from various fields of South India will participate in the event. New South Indian creations and stories from JioHotstar will be unveiled at the event.
The event will be inaugurated by the Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Mr. Udhayanidhi Stalin. Padma Bhushan-winning Member of Parliament, Mr. Kamal Haasan will be the special guest.
With the participation of South Indian actors, directors, film personalities and leading creators from various fields, the event will be a major moment to showcase the impact of South Indian art and storytelling tradition to the world. It also reiterates JioStar’s continued contribution to elevate, nurture and strengthen the South Indian entertainment world.
