These 108 divine Vel (spears) are not just ornaments crafted in gold and silver, but divine blessings bestowed upon the world. Having received the blessings of Lord Murugan at Batu Caves and now recognized as a world record, these 108 Maha Vel possess immeasurable spiritual power, faith, and tradition. This is our humble dedication to Murugan devotees worldwide. My thanks to all the guests and journalists who have come here.
Mr. T. S. Jawahar, IAS (Retd.), spoke as follows:
Vel signifies divine power, wisdom, and protection. Everyone in Tamil Nadu is a devotee of Lord Murugan. Kishore Kataria has researched and created 108 unique Vel, one for each zodiac sign. He has also taken them to the world-famous Batu Caves Sri Subramanya Temple in Malaysia and received blessings. My best wishes for the great success of his endeavor.
Mr. Jayantilal Challani spoke as follows:
Kishore Kataria’s family deity is not Murugan, nor is Murugan the deity he worships, but out of his love for Murugan, he has conducted extensive research and created these 108 Vel. This is an achievement worthy of a Guinness World Record. My best wishes for the great success of his spiritual journey.
Mr. K. T. Srinivasa Raja spoke as follows:
Thanks to God for designing this day. Murugan is the highlight of this day. The Murugan of Thiruchendur is the one who supports everything. I am a devout devotee of Murugan, but Kishore Kataria surprises me by researching many things that I myself didn’t know, designing these 108 Vel, and undertaking this new initiative. My best wishes to him. May your family be blessed for paying such a tribute to Lord Murugan, the deity of all the people of Tamil Nadu. May you achieve many more great accomplishments.
Speaking on behalf of the South Asia Book of Records, Mr. Balavinayagam said…,
We have presented awards to many people on behalf of the South Asia Book of Records. But we are proud to present this award to you.
Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh, Founder and Chancellor of Vels University, said…,
My thanks for inviting me to the Mahavel festival. My congratulations to my friend Kishore Kataria, who has accomplished this feat with deep devotion and contemplation of Lord Murugan. My father’s name was Kathirvelan, and after acting in films, it changed to Ishari Velan. Vels University was started with the intention of starting it in my father’s name. We are running 58 educational institutions, including those abroad. The reason for this is that I am a devotee of Murugan. Not only that, but my father’s name also contains the name of Murugan. I don’t know how Kishore contacted me. The way he explained about the 108 Vel (spears) gave me joy and surprise. It is a pleasure that this festival is being held on this auspicious day dedicated to Lord Murugan. My best wishes for Kishore’s endeavor to become a great effort that the world will admire.
To further enhance the spiritual sanctity of this achievement, the entire collection of 108 divine Vel (spears) was taken to the world-famous Batu Caves Sri Subramaniar Temple in Malaysia, and was blessed and sanctified with special pujas on 29.12.2025. Batu Caves, revered as one of the most powerful Murugan shrines outside of India, lends immense divine glory to this endeavor.
Each Vel in the collection of 108 divine Mahavel is individually imbued with spiritual energy.
Designed with meticulous research, blessed by temple rituals, and adorned with sacred scriptures, gemstones, zodiac symbols, and mythological meanings, this collection has been created with great care.
This collection is based on the sacred number “108,” which is of paramount importance in Hindu philosophy, astrology, astronomy, and spiritual science.
This sacred and historically significant event is organized with the aim of showcasing devotion, divinity, and extraordinary craftsmanship to the world. The organizers have stated that these 108 Mahavels will emerge as a new milestone in the spiritual world. These 108 Vel spears will be available for public use from February 1st.
