Salute to Mothers – 15th Anniversary – Chennai Sri Krishna Sweets

The ‘Salute to Mothers’ event, which has been continuously organized by Chennai Sri Krishna Sweets for the past 15 years, was held this year as well, celebrating the greatness of motherhood. This event, which celebrates the mother not only as a relationship but also as a cultural symbol and social value, was a meaningful social gathering with the participation of prominent personalities from various fields.

Padma Bhushan Mr. Nalli Kuppuswami Chetty, Padma Shri Professor Dr. V. Kamakoti, Mr. Ramadas Rao, and Padma Shri writer Mrs. Sivasankari participated in the event and inaugurated it by lighting the traditional lamp. This was the first public event attended jointly by Dr. V. Kamakoti and Mrs. Sivasankari after receiving the Padma Shri award this year, which further enhanced the prestige and brilliance of the event.

The program began with spiritual elements. During the intervals, bhajans presented by the NKM Trust Group added a spiritual dimension and a peaceful atmosphere to the event.

In his welcome address, Sri Krishna Sweets founder Mr. M. Murali stated that his life and business were built on the values ​​taught by his parents. He said that his parents taught him never to make any mistakes in life and that honesty and discipline are fundamental in business, which is why Sri Krishna Sweets stands as a symbol of trust today. He was awarded a world record certificate by ICWR – Ingenious Charm World Records for his continuous involvement in social service since 1996, having spearheaded more than 15,000 social welfare projects.

As a highlight of the event, the mothers of prominent achievers from various fields were honored. In this event, a total of 14 mothers were felicitated on stage, including the mother of renowned Carnatic musician Sandeep Narayan, the grandmother of music composer Anirudh Ravichander, the mother of orator U.V. Venkatesh, the mother of the Honourable Justice Mr. M. Swaminathan of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Chennai Bench, and the mother of Mrs. Meera Nagarajan from the Kalyanamalai founding team.

The blessings of a couple who had completed 90 years of age, the distribution of sacred offerings brought from various temples, the moments when children garlanded their mothers with their own hands, the ‘Matru Puja’ (worship of the mother), and other spiritual events transformed the celebration into a deeply emotional experience.

Conveying the message to society that honoring one’s mother is equivalent to honoring humanity, the 15th annual ‘Salute to Mothers’ event was a remarkable cultural and social festival centered around motherhood.
