Yogi Babu in the next work of the “Oru Kidaiyin Karunai Manu” director
Yogi Babu’s “Kenatha Kaanom” first look released
Tamil cinema has always shared an inseparable bond with well-conceived stories. Cinema enthusiasts continue to celebrate films that are rooted in reality. Known for his remarkable versatility, actor Yogi Babu has carved a unique niche for himself by effortlessly switching from comedy to hero roles. These have resonated deeply with the audience. Now, he makes us look back again with “Kenatha Kaanom”. Its first look was released today (February 19, 2025). The film, presented by Jio Hotstar, will soon hit the theatres.
This release assumes significance as the film’s director Suresh Sangaiah passed away recently. His works “Oru Kidaiyin Karunai Manu” and “Sathiya Sodhanai” are masterpieces in Indian cinema.
The first look of Kenatha Kaanom presents a grounded, rustic aesthetic that suggests situational, character-driven, fun-filled drama rather than overt comedy. With Yogi Babu positioned at the centre amidst a crowd of villagers, the gesture of his folded hands and serious expression suggest the humour that naturally emerges from confusion and frustration.
The earthy colours, rough title design further reinforce the rural setting, which suggests a story where comedy and drama are intertwined through everyday chaos, social dynamics and subtle absurdities.
While Yogi Babu plays the protagonist, the rest of the star cast includes Lovelyn Chandrasekhar, Ramakrishnan, Rachel Rebecca, George Mariam, Mottai Rajendran, Kavita Bharathi, Kalaipandian, Hello Kandasamy and others.
Nivas K Prasanna is composing the music for this film, V. Thiagarajan is handling the cinematography. R. Ramar is supervising the editing, and P.L. Subendhar is looking after the art direction. Sudesh is working as the stunt director. P. Kathavarayan and D.P. Sasi Kumar are the production executives and A.R. Amalraj is working as the executive producer. This film is produced by R. Ramesh Babu and Jagan Baskaran.
