Directed by R. S. Durai Senthilkumar, ‘Leader’ features Legend Saravanan, Shaam, Andrea, Santhosh Prathap, Payal Rajput, Lal, Prabhakaran, Amrita Iyer, VTV Ganesh, Baby Iyal, and others in the cast. S. Venkatesh has handled the cinematography, and Ghibran has composed the music. Pradeep E. Raghav is the editor, and G. Durairaj is the art director. The title and first glimpse video release event for the film, which is set to release worldwide in April in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi languages, was held at a star hotel in Chennai on Wednesday. ​​At the event, journalists, fans, and the film crew were present, and Mr. A. M. Vikramaraja, President of the Tamil Nadu Traders Federation, attended as a special guest and unveiled the film’s title.

In September 2022, I started discussions by meeting Legend Saravanan. Only after 5 or 6 months did we finalize and begin the work for this film.
During that time, whenever I met and spoke with him, I initially thought that he had come into acting purely out of passion. But through our continuous meetings and his conversations, I realized that he is someone who observes all aspects of cinema with great detail. Only then did I understand that he didn’t come into acting merely out of passion.
During one of our casual meetings, something he shared surprised me. He said that when he was in the fifth or sixth grade, he had pasted pictures of some Hindi actors in his house. When his mother asked him about it, he reportedly said, “I want to become like them in the future, and I will.” After that, he worked hard for his family and his responsibilities and reached the pinnacle of success. However, as a young man, he has produced and acted in this film, driven by the aspirations and dreams of that young boy, providing inspiration for other young people. This was truly a great example for me.
In the two years I’ve known him, I’ve witnessed and been amazed by his hard work. I have learned a lot from him. I really admire his extraordinary courage and self-confidence.

This film does not have even a single scene or dialogue related to politics. This is purely a commercial entertainer. The glimpse that has been released is like a sample of the whole meal. This is the essence of the film. The entire film will be like this.
The story of this film is about an innocent father and son who are living a happy life. Suddenly, a huge gang enters their lives. My director Durai Senthilkumar has brilliantly scripted the events that follow.” The director has crafted the screenplay in a way that appeals to today’s generation. Because there are plenty of stories available. But crafting the screenplay is the real challenge. In that respect, the director has meticulously sculpted and created every scene in this film, from the first scene to the last.
Ghibran’s background music is a huge strength for this film. Similarly, he has composed the songs to suit the narrative flow of the film.
We shot this film in Thoothukudi for 40 days. After that, we shot in Georgia for 15 days. We also filmed in Jaipur, Chennai, and Ooty. Cinematographer Venkatesh has done a wonderful job in every scene.
Editor Pradeep Raghav, who recently worked on the films ‘Dragon’ and ‘Jananaayagan’, has also worked as the editor for this film. He has done a neat job in this film as well, and I extend my wishes to him.
My wishes also to art director Durairaj. When fight choreographer Mahesh Mathew arrives on the set, the entire set becomes energized. He works with that much enthusiasm.
I have been passionate about cinema since I was a child. I used to stick pictures of Salman Khan on one side of the refrigerator and Shah Rukh Khan on the other side. I would tell my mother that one day I would become a star like them. My mother would just say ‘Happy’ and leave.
I have immense devotion and respect for my father. Because of that, I joined the family business and started working with my father. After that, he entrusted me with full responsibility.
