As far the execution of the script as well as the performance quotient ( of Radhika Sarathkumar), the film draws a thin line between being on board and going overboard but the screenplay and narration are concerned, the young filmmaker has managed to keep the audience entertained most of the time, thanks to his deft handling of the sequences as well as the artistes.
Rachel Rebecca is impressive as Radhika’s daughter while the rest of the male artistes, almost a battalion have done their parts with aplomb!
Nivas K. Prasanna ‘s background score is brilliant and the same compliment could be bestowed upon the cinematographer (Vivek Vijayakumar). Veteran editor San Lokesh appears to have been a little liberal with his scissors.
It is a life time role for Radhika Sarathkumar who does the ‘Manorama’ act with practised ease! She is excellent and her make up deserves special kudos!
Ponnuthaayi is a self made woman controlling a big family. Her daughter (Rachel Rebecca) had parted ways with her husband (Muthukumar) owing to differences.
Being a money lender, she is very strict and her very appearance would make people take to their heels!
One fine day, she falls sick all of a sudden and the entire family as well as the neighborhood gets into top gears to get to know, what next, meaning what if she breathes her last!
The family’s main concern is accessing her amassed wealth about which nobody knows anything, not even the slightest clue!
How things get resolved is the rest narrated in a humourous manner.
The film is certain to stand out as a milestone in Radhika’s chequered film career!
