Press Meet of Film ‘Pallichattambi’ Starring Actor Tovino Thomas
A press meet was held in Chennai to promote the Tamil version of the film ‘Pallichattambi’—produced by Worldwide Films and C Cube Bros Entertainment, directed by Dijo Jose Antony, and starring actor Tovino Thomas—which is set to release in theaters worldwide starting April 10th.
The film features a cast including Tovino Thomas, Kayadu Lohar, Vijayaraghavan, Babu Raj, Alexander Prashanth, Sudheer Karamana, T.G. Ravi, John Antony, and many others.
Dijo Tomy handled the cinematography for this film, while Jakes Bejoy composed the music. Crafted as a commercial entertainer set against the backdrop of 1957, the film was jointly produced by Noufal, Brijesh, and the trio Sanukya, Chaitanya, and Saran, on behalf of Worldwide Films and C Cube Bros Entertainment. Chakra Pictures is distributing the film across Tamil Nadu.
Actor Tovino Thomas, actress Kayadu Lohar, co-producer Megha Shyam, Chakra Pictures’ Vettri, and producers Chaitanya and Saran participated in the press meet held today in Chennai for the Tamil version of the film.
Speaking at the event, co-producer Megha Shyam said:
“I have been working in the film industry for 14 years. It is only now—for the very first time—that I have stepped onto the stage in the capacity of a co-producer. This is an unforgettable moment for me. I would like to commend my brothers—Sanukya, Chaitanya, and Saran.” “I commend the film crew. I will not speak at length about the movie itself. This film is an emotional action entertainer. We are releasing this movie worldwide. Tovino Thomas and Kayadu Lohar have delivered exceptional performances. The director, too, has worked with great dedication. I request everyone to watch the film in theaters and extend their support,” he said.
Speaking on behalf of Chakra Pictures, Vetri said:
“This is our debut film production. It is an excellent movie—a film rich in substance. It is scheduled for release on April 10th. We request everyone to offer their support.”
Producer Saran stated:
“This marks the first film produced by our company. We—three brothers—have joined forces to produce this movie. We commenced filming on February 19th of last year, and we are now bringing it to the screen. Through this film, we have recreated and narrated an incident that took place in Kerala during the 1950s. We take great pride in the fact that this is the very first film our production house has chosen to produce.”
Actress Kayadu Lohar remarked:
“This is my third Malayalam film. After a significant hiatus, I have returned to act in Malayalam cinema through this project. The character I portray in this film is unique; it is also a role that lies very close to my heart. I am grateful to the director and the producers for entrusting me with such a character. I was given ample opportunities to showcase my acting skills. I am confident that all of you will enjoy this film. We worked together as a cohesive team, putting in immense effort to craft this movie as a wholesome family entertainer. Tovino Thomas is an incredibly talented co-star, and I would like to express my gratitude to him as well.”
Actor Tovino Thomas said:
“We first discussed the story of this film back in 2018.” After extensive discussions and meticulous crafting of the screenplay, we finally commenced filming for this movie in 2025. Since both the director and I were occupied with other projects, we joined this film only after completing all our prior commitments. Consequently, the production of this film experienced a slight delay. The film’s writer, Suresh Babu, further enriched and refined the screenplay; indeed, the current narrative structure is far superior to the initial version of the story I first heard.
Filming spanned over a hundred days, with hundreds of actors participating in the shoot every single day. This was no easy feat; it demanded immense hard work as well as meticulous planning. This is a period film, set specifically in the 1957–58 era. The socio-political landscape and atmosphere prevalent in Kerala during that specific period serve as the backdrop for the story.
While the film is not a direct adaptation of a true incident, the screenplay has been crafted by drawing inspiration from certain real-life events and weaving them together with numerous fictional characters. The producers have already viewed the film and are brimming with confidence in its potential. I, too, am eagerly awaiting the opportunity to watch this movie alongside the audience in theaters. I look forward to being present among the fans to witness firsthand—and experience—how they celebrate and embrace this film in the cinemas.
I am not one to judge or predict the success of a film based on incomplete footage; I much prefer to experience the movie in its complete, final form alongside the audience in a theater setting. For that very reason, I am eagerly anticipating this film’s release myself. The film’s teaser and songs have already been released and have garnered an overwhelming response; I am confident that the movie itself will receive an equally enthusiastic reception from the audience.
