During the shooting of the film Magudam near Ennore Tsunami Quarters, Mr. Vishal met Mrs. Mala and Ritish.
11-year-old Ritish has been severely disabled since birth and has been completely disabled for the past 10 years. His mother left him after birth, so his grandfather Mr. Kumar and grandmother Mrs. Mala are taking care of him with great difficulty. His father Mr. Murugan works as a daily wage labourer.
Ritish is currently undergoing treatment at Stanley Hospital every month. Considering the financial condition of the family, assistance was sought from Devi Social and Educational Trust for medical expenses and basic needs.
Upon hearing this, Mr. Vishal approved a monthly assistance of ₹4,300 for Ritish’s care and medical needs.
Further, the trust visited Ritish’s house and provided him with a bed, bed sheets, groceries, Huggies, medicines and nutritious food.
₹4,300 in cash was also provided for emergency needs.
