First Look of “Colony,” Starring “Kalaiyarasi” Radhika and Directed by Gopi Nainar!!
The first look of the film Colony—produced by Aditi Movies, presented by Dr. R. Nagarajan, and directed by Gopi Nainar—has been released. The film features “Kalaiyarasi” Radhika in the lead role. This first look poster was jointly unveiled by acclaimed director Vetrimaaran and “Makkal Selvan” Vijay Sethupathi.
Director Gopi Nainar—who first garnered significant attention with his blockbuster hit Aramm—has crafted Colony as another compelling, socially conscious cinematic work, following his upcoming release Manushi. “Kalaiyarasi” Radhika—who received immense acclaim for her performance in the film Thaaykizhavi—once again takes on a powerful central character in this movie.
The film’s core theme revolves around the emotionally charged journey of a mother fighting to secure justice for the death of her son. In the released first look, Radhika’s intense gaze—seated with eyes blazing with fiery rage—leaves a lasting impression. The background features a scene depicting police personnel chasing away civilians amidst a riotous atmosphere, thereby heightening expectations that the film will serve as a stark portrayal of societal injustices. The poster is designed to convey that, much like Aramm, this film too will be a work that creates a profound and intense impact. The poster has already begun receiving a tremendous reception among film enthusiasts.
In Colony, while “Kalaiyarasi” Radhika plays the protagonist, newcomer Leo makes his debut playing the role of her son. Joining them in the cast are Anjali Nair, M.S. Bhaskar, Chetan, R.K. Vijaymurugan, Vinoth Sagar, Munnar Ramesh, Ajith Koshy, Ravi Venkatraman, J.K., and A. Venkatesh, Rams, Director Tamil, Senthi, Janaki, Ashwini Thangaraj, Geetha Kailasam, and Bose Venkat, among many others, have played key roles in this film.
After a brief hiatus, the renowned composer ‘Thenisai Thendral’ Deva has composed the music for this movie. R. Velraj handled the cinematography, while Anthony took charge of the film’s editing.
The filming of this movie has been completed across the northern districts of Tamil Nadu, including Thiruvannamalai. Currently, the final stages of post-production work are progressing rapidly. Announcements regarding the teaser, trailer, and theatrical release are expected to be made very soon.
