Actor ‘Vikkals’ Vikram Debuts as Lead Protagonist in the Film ‘Light Weight Baby’
Title Launch Ceremony Held for the Film ‘Light Weight Baby,’ Starring Actor ‘Vikkals’ Vikram
Celebrated by the younger generation of fans as a stand-up comedian, a Bigg Boss celebrity, and a digital media star, actor ‘Vikkals’ Vikram is making his debut as a lead protagonist in the upcoming film Light Weight Baby. The film’s title launch ceremony was held with great fanfare in Chennai.
Directed by K.C. Guru, Light Weight Baby features ‘Vikkals’ Vikram and fitness model Arthi Krishna in the lead roles. Pramod Kodiyan handles the cinematography for the film, while Saravanan Subramaniam composes the music. Produced by Hitha Studios, this film falls under the romantic comedy genre. Sagar Sandesh and G. Thimma Reddy serve as the film’s co-producers.
The film’s title launch ceremony took place in Chennai, attended by the lead actor ‘Vikkals’ Vikram, lead actress Arthi Krishna, and director K.C. Guru.
Speaking at the event, actor ‘Vikkals’ Vikram said, “I would like to thank everyone who has gathered here today. I am going to kick off this event just like a stand-up comedy show; so, if any jokes pop up along the way, please don’t forget to laugh! For the very first time, I feel a little nervous standing on this stage. Furthermore, this ‘stand-up comedy show’ will also serve as an occasion for me to express my gratitude.
Back in 2016, I was working as a theater artist. Subsequently, I gained popularity among audiences through various content I created for social media platforms. I consider myself a quiet and reserved artist. Much like me, my fans too remained calm and composed in their support, ultimately carrying me all the way to the finals of the Bigg Boss reality show.” At this moment, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for that.
As for how Bigg Boss has transformed me… In the past, people viewed me merely as a source of “content.” Back then, fans who met me in person often didn’t even know my name, yet they would still shower me with affection. However, since the Bigg Boss show, I have become like a child of their own family to them. I realized that the Bigg Boss show possesses such a powerful influence.
While I was inside the Bigg Boss house, they followed my journey every single day. They began to pour their love upon me. I became a cherished member of every household. They would ask to take selfies with me—something that brought me great joy. When meeting me in person, they would inquire about my well-being with a sense of familiarity and ownership; this felt truly delightful to me—and, at the same time, quite surprising.
Now, fans visit my social media page, “Vickles,” and follow my updates. They ask me, “What are you up to?”—doing so with both genuine concern and a sense of close familiarity.
I actually enjoy being “bothered” by my fans. Even if it might seem like a trivial quirk, I genuinely like it when people “disturb” me.
My father knows absolutely nothing about the internet. In the beginning, my friends and I would simply shoot and upload our “Reels” right from my bedroom.
All my father would see, day after day, was my friends and me staying cooped up in the bedroom from morning till night—followed by my friends leaving the house, and me being left behind, utterly exhausted.
We created and uploaded a Reel set to the song “Nilavai Kondu Vaa” (Bring the Moon). It went viral. Within just a few minutes of posting that Reel, it had already garnered ten thousand views. When we checked again a little later, it had crossed the one-lakh mark. From there, it surged past the one-million mark and just kept soaring to new heights. At that very moment, actors S.J. Suryah and Simran Ma’am took to their social media platforms to share their thoughts and reactions regarding our Reel. Suddenly, Mr. Deva reached out to me over the phone and expressed his gratitude. He thanked me for popularizing that particular song after so many years; hearing those words brought tears to my eyes. I told him, “Please don’t speak like that; you are a true legend. I don’t know whose lives the song ‘Nilavai Kondu Vaa’ might have changed, but it certainly transformed ours.” We gave interviews to numerous channels and spoke openly about ourselves. My father watched all of this unfold with sheer astonishment.
However, he was unaware that I was a capable actor. Nor did he realize that I was a thoughtful individual. As far as he was concerned, his only memories of me were of things like ‘bunking’ my college classes.
It was only while watching me during my time in the Bigg Boss house that my father truly realized—and witnessed firsthand—that I possessed acting talent.
Today, I am starring in a film. After a gap of ten years, I am playing the lead role—the hero—in a movie. We are now about to reveal the title of that very film.
I have attended various events within the film industry, including audio launch ceremonies. Typically, at such events, the hero praises the director, and the director, in turn, praises the hero.
I met this director only recently. He narrated a story to me, and I absolutely loved it. At the time, I asked him, “If we were to hold an event for this film, what exactly would we talk about?”—implying that there seemed to be nothing specific to discuss.
