Engagement Ceremony at Director V. Gauthaman’s Residence

V. Gauthaman—who made his directorial debut with the film Kanave Kalaiyadhe and subsequently starred in and directed the films Magizhchi and Padaiyanda Maaveera—hosted the engagement ceremony for his daughter, Ms. G. Paranjothi (B.Com., M.B.A.), and Mr. K. Gunanidhi (B.Arch.), son of Mr. Kannan, a businessman from Naduveerapattu, Cuddalore. The event was held at ‘Arangae Nichaya Beach’ in Chennai.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of eminent Tamil personalities and social activists who gathered to bless the couple. Attendees included veteran film artist Sivakumar; “Kaviperarasu” (Emperor of Poetry) Vairamuthu; Justice Kalaiyarasan; Members of Parliament Jagathrakshakan and Thamizhachi Thangapandian; former Minister A.K. Moorthy; President of the Tamil National Movement, P. Maniarasan; businessmen Delta Selvam, Ramji, and Santhanam (IAS); actors Santhanam, Ilavarasu, Redin Kingsley, Aegan, Brigida, Karate Raja, and King Kong; directors R.V. The special guests were warmly welcomed by Director V. Gowthaman, businessman K. Kannan, producer T. Manivannan, and the budding actor Gowthaman Tamizhalagan—son of V. Gowthaman—among others.
Along the entire pathway leading into the venue, a series of evocative banners stood lined up to welcome the attendees, filling everyone with delight. These banners featured a distinguished lineage of figures spanning from the Sangam era to the present day—ranging from the primordial deity Murugan, Tolkappiyar, Avvaiyar, Kambar, Valluvar, and Vallalar, to Karikalan and Raja Raja Chola; and extending to other guiding lights of Tamil nationalism such as His Excellency Prabhakaran, Pulavar Kaliyaperumal, Comrade Tamilarasan, Gowthaman’s father (a freedom fighter from Vadamalai), and Thiru.
