“Irattaiyar,” a Psychological Thriller, Set to Release on June 5th!!
Produced by Rajeswari Lakshminarayanan and Vinoth Kannan under the banner of Asia Iconic Studios—with Hariharan serving as co-producer—and directed by debutant Jagadeesh, the film “Irattaiyar” is a psychological thriller set against a truly unique backdrop. This film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on June 5th, distributed by Shivani Studios.
Distinguishing itself from other thriller films previously released in Tamil cinema, “Irattaiyar” centers on the love and bond shared between a mother and her twin daughters.
The story unfolds following an accident in which the father loses his life, and the mother sustains severe facial injuries. Upon returning home after undergoing plastic surgery, the mother exhibits bizarre behavior that begins to disrupt the lives of her twin daughters. Consequently, the girls set out to investigate these mysteries; the series of terrifying events that ensue form the core narrative of the film.
The film’s first-look poster created quite a stir; it depicts the twin daughters—situated in a setting resembling a garage—frantically attempting to shut a door out of sheer terror, while on the other side, their mother is seen furiously trying to force it open. The surrounding elements—such as tools, tires, and oil stains—further accentuate the film’s dark and intense mood.
The subsequent trailer release also successfully captured the audience’s attention by vividly portraying the unsettling relationship between the mother and her twin daughters as a thrilling, horror-infused experience.
Thanks to its distinctive storyline, spine-chilling visuals, and gripping screenplay, “Irattaiyar” has generated significant anticipation among fans.
Abhinaya stars in the role of the mother, while Anumitha and Anushitha portray the twin daughters. Additionally, Subramaniam Siva and Sangeetha play pivotal supporting roles in the film. Filming for this movie was completed in a mere 21 days across locations in the Thittakudi and Kodaikanal regions. With all production tasks now finalized, the final stages of post-production work are currently underway at a brisk pace.
Promising to deliver a unique horror-thriller experience, the film Irattaiyar is set to hit theaters worldwide on June 5th. Shivani Studios is handling the theatrical release of the film across Tamil Nadu.
