Press Meet for the Film “Engal Thangam” Held in Chennai!

A press meet for the film “Engal Thangam,” starring Samantha in the lead role, was held in Chennai.
Featuring the bold tagline “This GOLD is BLOODY BOLD,” the film is set for a worldwide theatrical release on June 19, 2026.
Created by renowned creator and producer Raj Nidimoru, the film is directed by the talented B.V. Nandini Reddy. It is produced by Tralala Moving Pictures, with Raj Nidimoru, Samantha, and Himank Reddy Duvvuru serving as co-producers.
At the press meet held yesterday, the film’s team participated and shared interesting details about the movie.
Cinematographer Om Prakash spoke as follows:
“I am very happy to have worked on this film. It is a very special movie for us. A few years ago, Nandini Reddy contacted me and mentioned she was planning a new film centered around Samantha. I was immediately intrigued.
Usually, the name Nandini Reddy brings to mind beautiful romantic and family stories. However, this time she has created a completely different world. In particular, Samantha has performed in hardcore action sequences unlike anything she has done before. Her dedication and hard work inspired us throughout the shoot.
The energy and excitement you saw in the trailer will be present throughout the entire film. I believe this will be a complete entertainment experience for the audience.” “Heartfelt thanks to the producers and the director for placing their trust in us and offering this opportunity,” she said.
Actress Gautami spoke as follows:
“It is always a joy to connect with you through a film. I am especially happy to stand on this stage for a remarkable movie like Engal Thangam.
The experience of acting in this film was truly delightful. The shoot went by so smoothly that I didn’t even realize when it began or ended. The journey was so enjoyable that, upon completion, I found myself wishing the filming had continued for a few more days.
I haven’t taken on many film projects recently. However, the primary reason I agreed to this film was the people behind it. The producer and the director are the vital pillars of any movie. I hold Samantha and Nandini Reddy—who have taken on these respective roles here—in high regard and affection.
Both of them are confident, strong, and dignified individuals. I have always admired their professional competence and dedication. It is a matter of pride for me to have worked alongside them.

“Coming to Chennai always feels like coming home.” This area, where the Sathyam Theatre is located, is very close to my heart; I lived right here during my college days. It gives me great joy to stand here today.
I have always harbored a regret—I often feel that I should have acted in more Tamil films. That regret remains, but there is still time. If good stories and compelling characters come my way, I would certainly love to continue acting in Tamil cinema.
My heartfelt thanks to the members of the press present here today and to the fans who have supported me for so many years. Although I haven’t done many Tamil films or had many releases over the years, the love and support from my fans have never wavered. I will always be grateful for that.
For the film Engal Thangam, I have worked not only as an actress but also as a producer. This project made me fully realize just how difficult it is to create and release a film. The final stages of production, in particular, were extremely challenging. However, I am confident that our hard work has resulted in a fine film.

Featuring a unique storyline, the film has been crafted as a wholesome entertainer blending family elements, emotions, and action sequences.
Om Prakash (ISC) has handled the cinematography, while music composer Santhosh Narayanan offers a fresh musical experience for the audience. The screenplay is co-written by Raj Nidimoru and Vasant Maringanti, with additional screenplay work by Prakash Poppudi.
Seetha R. Menon serves as the executive supervisor, Dharmendra Kakarala handles the editing, and Ullas Hydoor is the art director. Internationally acclaimed stunt directors Lee Whittaker and Aejaz Gulab have worked on the action sequences.
With Samantha’s new look and the film’s unique concept already generating excitement among fans, ‘Engal Thangam’ is expected to be a major release this summer. The film hits theaters worldwide on June 19th.
