‘Promise’ – A film that explores the test of truth!

‘Promise’ – A film praised with deep appreciation by M.S. Bhaskar.

“My life itself is a ‘test of truth’ (Sathiya Sodhanai). If you wish to understand how truth was put to the test, read my autobiography titled The Story of My Experiments with Truth,” said Mahatma Gandhi. Indeed, by reading that book, one can learn how truth, honesty, and righteousness were tested throughout his life. It could be said that the story of Harishchandra—who fought for the sake of truth—served as a guiding light for Gandhi himself on this path. In this sense, truth is deeply intertwined with our heritage, culture, and values. ‘Promise’ is a film that explores how such truth plays a pivotal role in life.

The film ‘Promise’ is built around the power of truth. It is directed by Arun Kumar Sekaran, who also plays the lead role. Vinoth Kumar has handled the cinematography, while Saravana Deepan composed the music. The lyrics were penned by Bala, and Sriram Vignesh handled the editing.

Nadhiya Somu stars as the female lead. The cast also includes Sujan, Amrish, Prathap, Gokul, Sundaravel, Rajkumar, Kalaivani, and others. The film is proudly presented by N. Nagaraj and jointly produced by Sangamithran Productions and Amman Arts Creations.

Every individual faces a test of truth at some point in their life. The moments where the protagonist faces such tests in the film will draw the audience into an engaging and captivating experience.

The film’s ‘First Look’ was released by director Cheran and cinematographer-actor Natty, garnering widespread attention and discussion. The film’s trailer, released on the AP International platform, has garnered hundreds of thousands of views, serving as a widespread introduction to the movie. Filming took place in North Tamil Nadu regions such as Vellore, Hosur, and Krishnagiri.

National Award-winning actor M.S. Bhaskar, who came to record the voice-over for the film, was deeply moved—even moved to tears—after watching the scenes and praised the work; his appreciation has greatly encouraged the film crew. Crafted with emotionally stirring scenes suitable for families to watch together in theaters, Promise is set for release on June 26th through Action Reaction Jenish.
