“Environmental protection is not merely the government’s duty; it is the responsibility and obligation of each and every one of us.” – Actor Soundararaja

For the past few years, actor Soundararaja has been actively engaged in initiatives related to nature, the environment, and agriculture through his ‘Mannukkum Makkalukkum’ (For the Soil and the People) Trust. He consistently carries out various social service activities, including tree planting, desilting lakes and ponds, and conducting cleanliness drives.

In observance of World Environment Day on June 5, the Trust undertook maintenance work over the past two weeks—specifically watering and caring for trees planted along roadsides and streets in the Vadapalani and Virugambakkam areas.

This initiative was conducted to emphasize to the public the necessity of protecting nature and the environment amidst rising summer temperatures. Actor Soundararaja, the founder and president of the ‘Mannukkum Makkalukkum’ Trust, stated that environmental protection is not solely the government’s duty but the responsibility and obligation of every citizen.

Many members of the Trust participated in this event and contributed to the social service efforts.
