A discussion meeting regarding the film industry was held today (July 16, 2026) at a private hotel in Chennai, organized by the South Indian Film Producers Council and attended by the Honorable Union Minister of State, Mr. Suresh Gopi. The event was presided over by Mr. G.K.M. Tamilkumaran, President of the Tamil Film Producers Council, in the presence of Vice-Presidents Mr. Kamalakkannan and Mr. R.K. Suresh, Secretary Mr. Kathiresan, and Treasurer Mr. Subhash Chandra Bose. Attendees included office bearers from the Tamil Film Active Producers Association, Mr. R.K. Selvamani (President of the South Indian Film Employees Federation), and representatives from the film producers’ associations of Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Karnataka, along with numerous other producers.
