Filming for Vaanavedikkai—the ninth production from Captain Cine Creations, helmed by producer L.K. Sudheesh (MP)—commenced auspiciously today with a traditional pooja ceremony.
At the launch event for the film, which stars Shanmuga Pandian Vijayakanth in the lead role:
Premalatha Vijayakanth switched on the camera, while the producer’s wife, Poorna Jothi Sudheesh, sounded the clapboard to mark the filming of the first shot.
The movie is directed by Thiru, known for films such as Naan Sigappu Manithan and Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai.
Directors Suseenthiran and Jayam Raja attended the event as special guests.
The cast also features Saravanan, Director Tamil, Amma Creations Siva, Art Director Kiran, Jayaprakash, Stills Pandian, Kumki Ashwin, Sara, Padur Ramesh, and others in key roles.
Arvi handles the cinematography, and Sam C.S. composes the music. Rajkamal is the art director, and Premkumar is the editor.
The entire shoot for the film will take place in Chennai.
Speaking about the project, Director Thiru said:
“You will see a side of Shanmuga Pandian Vijayakanth that you have never witnessed before.”
Describing it as a beautiful commercial film that explores the emotional bond between a father and son, he added that further details regarding the movie would be announced once filming concludes.
