‘Villuppattu’ Madhavi Makes Her Cinema Debut as a Singer with ‘Vetta Saami’ (Music by Ghibran)

‘Villuppattu’ Madhavi enters the film industry as a singer through the movie ‘Vetta Saami’

Madhavi is an artist who has carved a unique niche for herself among the public through the art of Villuppattu (a traditional musical storytelling form). She commands a dedicated fan base on social media. In Southern Tamil Nadu, the mere announcement that Madhavi is performing at an event is enough to draw thousands of people, instantly enlivening the festivities. She has garnered numerous awards for her mastery of Villuppattu and is actively working to introduce folk music and traditional arts to the younger generation.

Known for her distinctive voice and large following, Madhavi is now making her debut as a film singer in the movie Vetta Saami. She recently recorded the song “Sudalaimadan Vettai Paadal” (The Hunting Song of Sudalaimadan), composed by Ghibran.

Produced by Samuel Mathew under the banner of 7 Miles Per Seconds Productions, Vetta Saami features Arulnithi and Ameer in the lead roles. The film also stars Director Tamil, Viji Chandrasekhar, ‘Aadukalam’ Naren, Arjai, OAK Sundar, Madhusudhanan, Myna Nandini, Kavitha Bharathi, and Nandini in pivotal roles.

Centered on themes of valor and faith—integral to the region’s identity—the film is directed by M. Selvakumar, who previously helmed the movie Bumper. R.D. Rajasekhar handles the cinematography, while Ruben is in charge of editing. The stunt sequences have been choreographed by ‘Siruthai’ Ganesh. With filming complete and post-production work underway, music composer Ghibran has happily shared on his social media pages the news that ‘Villuppattu’ Madhavi has sung for the film ‘Vetta Saami’.
