A grand launch ceremony (pooja) was held for a new film directed by Franklin Jacob—known for directing Writer and writing DC—and jointly produced by Rahul (Romeo Pictures) and Gokul Srinivasan (Aviate Pictures). The film features ‘Ilaiya Thilagam’ Prabhu and newcomer Vijay Varma (who gained fame through Bigg Boss 7) in lead roles.
Many film industry personalities, including directors Pa. Ranjith and Arun Matheswaran, attended the event alongside the film crew to offer their best wishes.
This thriller-comedy, set against a unique backdrop and featuring dark humor, will star a popular actress alongside Vijay Varma. Rahul of Romeo Pictures also plays a key role in the film.
The cast also includes Muthu Kumar, Ramesh Thilak, Dhilip Subbarayan, Dheena, Arun Matheswaran, Kavitha Bharathi, and Avinash Raghudevan in significant roles.
Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing the music, while Pradeep Kaliraja handles cinematography and Prasanna G.K. manages the editing. P.C. Stunts is choreographing the action sequences, and Yugabharathi is penning the lyrics. Costume design is by Navshad Ahmed, and art direction is by Sakthi Venkatraj M. Vanko is handling the poster design. Additionally, the technical crew includes members who worked on the film DC. Speaking at the event, ‘Ilaiya Thilagam’ Prabhu said:
“Franklin, the director of the film Writer, narrated a wonderful story. I am happy to have the opportunity to work on such a unique film.
All the technicians working on this film are exceptional artists. It is particularly heartening to see figures like Director Ranjith and Arun Matheswaran here, showing their support for the new generation of filmmakers. My best wishes go to the producers, music director Yuvan, and the entire film crew. Rahul is an outstanding film producer; he possesses a real talent for filmmaking. I am delighted to be part of this project, as the role suits the story perfectly. I believe this film will turn out brilliantly and offer a great experience to everyone. Thank you.”
Actor Vijay Varma said:
“I am very happy to be a part of this film. The entire crew is working with great enthusiasm and dedication.
I am aware of the long-standing efforts and work that have gone into this project; it has been in development for the past few years. I have been a part of that journey, and it brings me great joy to see the film now taking shape. My best wishes to the entire team, and I hope the film turns out wonderfully. I thank Franklin and everyone else for including me in this journey. A big thank you to everyone who has come here to show their support.”
Director Pa. Ranjith spoke as follows:
“Franklin is my associate director. This isn’t just another run-of-the-mill movie; the story and the way it has been crafted reflect a unique approach.
It is crucial for creators of the younger generation to develop their own distinctive stories and explore fresh themes. In that regard, this project is significant. I extend my best wishes to the director, Franklin Jacob, and the entire crew. The same team that worked on Writer is working on this film as well. Franklin wrote the dialogues for Writer and has also written for Vettuvam. I hope this film achieves success just like Writer did. I really like the film Writer. Franklin holds an indispensable place in Tamil cinema, and I believe this film will further cement that position.
Having Yuvan Shankar Raja compose the music is a massive strength for this film. The inclusion of a legendary actor like Prabhu Sir adds even more value. It is wonderful to see new-generation creators collaborating with such an experienced artist. I hope this film turns out brilliantly and captures everyone’s attention. My best wishes to the entire team.”
Director Arun Matheswaran spoke as follows:
“I have known Rahul for nearly nine years and have witnessed his growth firsthand. I offer him my best wishes for this new venture.
Prabhu Sir, we have met before; you were supposed to act in Rocky, though it didn’t materialize at the time. I am delighted to be working with Franklin. He is immensely talented and brings a unique approach to his creative work. My debut film also… Franklin…”
…his debut film and mine were released on the same day. We became friends after that; I knew his stories, and he knew mine. I am familiar with the story of this film as well—it is an excellent one.
I consider it a great injustice when a talented director doesn’t get the opportunity to make a film. I am overjoyed that he has secured this project now. When I heard that Prabhu Sir was cast in this film, it came as a surprising and unexpected choice to me. However, the combination is fascinating. Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music is unique, and his involvement is a tremendous asset to the film. My best wishes to Prabhu Sir and the entire crew. I hope this film achieves massive success. All the best to everyone. Thank you.”
Director Franklin Jacob spoke as follows:
“First, I would like to welcome and thank everyone present here.
When Rahul spoke to me about this project, he really liked the idea I shared. We decided to go ahead with this story together. We have now successfully launched the film, and our goal is to take it forward effectively. It was Rahul who first suggested casting Prabhu Sir, and I had great confidence in that idea.
I wanted to utilize Prabhu Sir in a unique way—presenting him with a fresh approach that audiences haven’t seen before, while still leveraging his distinctive acting style in Tamil cinema. It gave me great joy to see how keenly and appreciatively he listened when I narrated the story. The fact that he enjoyed the narration and immediately agreed to do the film instilled a lot of confidence in me.
Prabhu Sir agreeing to act in this film is a huge strength for us. I am delighted to be working with him. Thank you to everyone who attended the launch event and offered their best wishes. A special thank you to Pa. Ranjith anna and Arun Matheswaran Sir for coming.” “I extend my gratitude to the entire film crew. With everyone’s support, we will create an excellent film. Thank you all.”

Working with him has been a long-held dream of mine, and I am delighted that it is coming true through this project. I am certain this film will be one that he truly appreciates.
