Grand Pre-release Event for the GV Prakash-starrer “Immortal”!

The pre-release event for the fantasy thriller “Immortal”—produced by Arun Kumar Dhanasekaran of AK Film Factory, starring GV Prakash and Gayathri Lohar, and directed by debutant filmmaker Mariappan Chinna—was held with great enthusiasm.

The event, attended by the film crew, industry celebrities, and special guests, saw the sharing of many interesting details about “Immortal.” Insights into the film’s making, its storyline, and the experiences of the crew added to the event’s significance.

Producer Arun Kumar Dhanasekaran spoke as follows:

“When director Mariappan Chinna first narrated this story to me, my immediate thought was, ‘This feels like a Hollywood movie; how can we make this a reality?’ In particular, the visual concepts he described required extensive CGI work. However, the director spent about seven months working at a studio abroad to create a visual model of the film before presenting it to me. His confidence—asserting, ‘Sir, this won’t be like the typical Tamil films you’ve seen; we can create this at Hollywood standards’—is what motivated me to produce the film.

We undertook a long period of pre-production work before filming began. Through this process, we meticulously planned the film’s visuals and CGI elements. GV Prakash Kumar joined the project subsequently; he participated in the shoot with immense enthusiasm and total dedication, offering us tremendous cooperation. I am personally a fan of GV Prakash Sir, and his involvement proved to be a huge strength for the film. The director was also very careful in selecting the film’s female lead.” “We discovered Kayadu Lohar through social media and approached her, confident that she would be the perfect fit for this role. She has delivered a truly fitting performance. Most of the film’s sequences were shot under challenging conditions; the cast and technical crew worked tirelessly, especially to craft the various action and fantasy sequences. As a producer, I prioritized ensuring the safety of the artists and providing them with all the necessary facilities to work comfortably.

I can confidently say that ‘Immortal’ will be no ordinary film. We have crafted it to meet Hollywood standards in terms of visuals, special effects, music, and overall creativity, utilizing technical resources from various countries. The team dedicated a vast amount of time specifically to the visuals and CGI work. The film represents over three years of hard work. Director Mariappan Chinna poured his heart and soul into this project; the film’s exceptional quality today is the result of his vision and dedication. Technicians across every department—cinematography, music, sound, editing, and visual effects—have contributed their absolute best. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported us from start to finish during the making of this film. ‘Immortal’ will offer audiences a fresh experience, not just within Indian cinema, but also in terms of technical quality and visual storytelling. Your support and feedback after the release are crucial to us. I urge everyone to support the film and make it a success,” he said.

Actor and music composer G.V. Prakash spoke next:

“This is a truly unique film. Belonging to the vampire genre—a rarity in Indian cinema—it promises to offer audiences a fresh and novel experience.” We have spent about a year working on the CGI and monster sequences. It is a survival thriller that revolves around a character who lives for approximately four thousand years. The film’s producer, Arun Kumar Dhanasekaran, has steered this project with great dedication over the past two years. Everyone should support this film, which has been created with a grand vision by a new producer and a new director. I was thrilled when director Mariappan Chinna narrated the story, as it was of Hollywood caliber. This is not a copy of any other film; it is an attempt to offer audiences a completely new experience.

Kayadu Lohar has delivered an excellent performance in this movie, and her fans will certainly enjoy it. The other actors have performed brilliantly as well; Karthi’s character, in particular, will surprise the audience in theaters.

Cinematographer Arun Radhakrishnan has a bright future ahead. Sam C.S. has put immense effort into the background score, which will be a major strength of the film.

Speaking on behalf of Sakthi Film Factory, Sakthivelan said:

“I was truly amazed when I watched the trailer for this film. It has been crafted with a massive budget and high-end technology. The sincere hard work and dedication of the entire crew—evident in the performances, cinematography, editing, and visual effects—shine through in every single frame.

It is particularly praiseworthy to see animation and visual effects executed with such high quality in Tamil cinema. G.V. Prakash always approaches his work with tremendous energy. No matter how many films he acts in or composes music for, his work ethic and momentum never waver. He has already won National Awards, yet he continues to forge ahead tirelessly. Similarly, producer Arun Kumar Dhanasekaran possesses a grand vision. His confidence in this project, along with his efforts to produce and promote the film on such a magnificent scale, is commendable. I believe he will carve a significant niche for himself in Tamil cinema as a producer who champions talented directors and innovative ventures.

‘Immortal’ has shaped up to be a film that combines a beautiful romantic story with breathtaking visuals and technical brilliance. When audiences watch it in theaters, they will surely appreciate the immense effort the crew has poured into every frame. My best wishes to the entire team.” Choreographer Sabareesh said:

“This film is very special to me; in fact, it gives me the feeling of working on a debut project. At the same time, I am overjoyed that this marks our second film together. I extend my heartfelt thanks to Arun Anna, the director, the producer, the music composer, and the entire film crew for giving me this opportunity.

The film is set to release on September 4th. I urge everyone to visit the theaters, watch the movie, and show their support. We truly need your love and backing. Thank you all.”

Editor Rajesh said:

“I am delighted to have had the opportunity to work on this film. I express my sincere gratitude to the entire team for this chance. I am especially thankful to the producer and the crew for their immense support and encouragement. Everyone worked with great dedication on this project, and collaborating with them was a wonderful experience for me.

I also take this moment to thank my mentor and the associate colleagues I worked with; their guidance and support have been crucial to my journey. ‘Immortal’ is releasing on September 4th. I hope fans will come to the theaters to watch and support the film. Since this is a collaborative effort, your support would bring us great joy.”

Actor T.M. Karthik said:

“The director narrated this story to me about two years ago. I agreed to act in the film immediately because the character we discussed back then had been expanded into a full-fledged, substantial role.

I still remember G.V. Prakash presenting me with a prize at a music competition many years ago. It is a pleasure to have worked alongside him on this film now.

‘Immortal’ has turned out to be a very unique movie. It doesn’t feature a typical ‘mass entry’ scene, yet it is crafted in a way that everyone—including fans of mass entertainers—will enjoy.” “My thanks go to the producer, the director, G.V. Prakash, and the entire film crew. I wish the film great success,” he said.

Actor Kumar Natarajan spoke next:

“I usually play small roles, but in this film, I had the opportunity to portray a significant character that was written specifically with me in mind. I thoroughly enjoyed playing that role.

The cooperation from everyone—including the director and producer—was excellent. I was particularly impressed by the lead actress; despite not knowing Tamil, she delivered her Tamil dialogues beautifully.

This is not a film to be casually watched on a mobile phone, TV, or OTT platform. Crafted in a Hollywood style, it is a movie that must be experienced in a theater. I urge our friends in the press and media to help take this film to the audience,” he said.

Cinematographer Arun Radhakrishnan spoke next:

“G.V. Prakash Sir has always been a supporter of unique endeavors. As soon as he heard this story, he insisted that I take it up because it was an experimental project.

We faced many challenges during the shoot; filming in certain locations was particularly difficult. Nevertheless, producer Arunkumar Dhanasekaran provided full support and creative freedom, ensuring that quality took precedence over the time taken or production constraints. That was the key reason the film turned out with such high quality.

“I thank the technical crew, music composer Sam C.S., and all my friends in the media. I urge everyone to watch the movie ‘Immortal’ and extend their support,” he said.

Starring G.V. Prakash as the lead, the film features Kayadu Lohar—who garnered attention among the youth with the movie “Dragon”—as the female lead.

Debut director Mariappan Chinna is crafting “Immortal” as an engaging commercial entertainer with elements that appeal to all audiences; the story centers on the supernatural events that unfold after a woman enters the life of a young man from Chennai.

Filming took place in locations including Chennai and Kerala. As a fantasy-genre film, it features significant CGI and visual effects sequences.

Generating high anticipation, the film is set for a worldwide theatrical release on September 4th. Sakthivelan is releasing the film across Tamil Nadu under the banner of Sakthi Film Factory.
