Ever since his debut through Pizza , Karthik Subbaraj has always exhibited skills in toying with themes that are out of the ordinary!
His quest to venture a plot that deliberates on Gender (In)Equality, LGBTQ connected matters and of course, caste based excesses in the name of honor killing!
The maker has taken his own time to establish the credentials of both the protagonists, brilliantly portrayed by Rishikanth and Sananth both have come up with riveting performances.
Muthukumar sports a different look here and has done his part well as a whistling man listening to the songs of MSV/TKR while Ilayaraja, the film’s composer has tuned in two foot tapping numbers!
Keerthy Suresh ‘s character is just a cameo but she is effective.
The first half moves at a pace that is good enough but the scoring part is the second one that gives the audience a big jolt!
Karthik Subbaraj has raised a lot of pertaining questions relevant to gender inequality and discrimination and the humiliation that is being bestowed upon a select set of human beings whose identity is a subject matter of ridicule to their counterparts!
But Karthik Subbaraj deserves a pat on his back for his bold approach and execution of a delicate theme with extraordinary support from the cast and crew! The title is apt and appropriate.
A laudable attempt!
