The fight for justice continues! ZEE5 Tamil releases the trailer for ‘Sattamum Needhiyum 2’!
Following the acclaim and positive reception from fans for the first season, ZEE5 Tamil has unveiled the trailer for the gripping courtroom drama ‘Sattamum Needhiyum 2’. The series sees Saravanan return as the lawyer Sundaramurthy, with Varalaxmi Sarathkumar joining the cast in a pivotal role. Centered on a journey through power, influence, and the pursuit of truth, the new season—featuring a fresh case—is set to premiere on October 23, 2026.
Directed by Balaji Selvaraj and produced by Sasikala Prabhakaran for 18 Creators, the series features Saravanan reprising his role as lawyer Sundaramurthy, alongside Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in a key role. With a new case, mounting challenges, and profound moral dilemmas, this season continues to explore the complex interplay between law, justice, and the truth.
The first season of ‘Sattamum Needhiyum’ earned widespread appreciation for its realistic storytelling, focusing on an ordinary lawyer who takes on a case that challenges the interests of the powerful. What begins as a seemingly simple case gradually evolves into a complex web of influence, authority, and hidden truths—putting both the courage and the principles of Sundaramurthy to the test. The first season was highly praised for its compelling legal narrative, well-developed characters, and its insightful portrayal of the challenges inherent in the fight for justice. In its second season, ‘Law and Justice 2’ (Sattamum Needhiyum 2) returns with a new case—one that plunges the characters into increasingly complex situations. As power and influence collide with personal choices, the quest for truth becomes even more challenging. Beyond mere courtroom verdicts, the series explores the moral dilemmas that arise when the law, individual beliefs, and various perspectives on the truth come into conflict. The addition of Varalaxmi Sarathkumar brings a new dimension to the narrative, while the realistic, character-driven storytelling style established in the first season remains at the core.

The acclaim received by the first season of ‘Sattamum Needhiyum’ (Law and Justice) confirmed that audiences have a keen interest in courtroom-based dramas that explore profound questions about justice and accountability—going well beyond the mere mechanics of legal proceedings. This festive season, we have planned a diverse slate of new releases, offering our viewers a wide array of compelling stories and entertaining experiences.
Building on the success of its first season, ‘Sattamum Needhiyum 2’ returns with a fresh case, mounting challenges, and complex moral dilemmas. We are thrilled to see Saravanan reprise his role as Sundaramurthy, and we are equally delighted to have a powerhouse performer like Varalaxmi Sarathkumar join the cast. We are excited to bring this gripping, thought-provoking narrative to our audience on ZEE5 Tamil, starting October 23rd.” Actor Saravanan says:
“The love and appreciation received for the first season of ‘Sattamum Needhiyum’ (Law and Justice) made the character of Sundaramurthy truly special to me. He is not your typical hero; he is an ordinary man who stands courageously for what he believes to be right.
In this new season, a fresh case brings forth various challenges, forcing him to confront situations he has never encountered before. It has been incredibly exciting to step back into this narrative. This season delves even deeper into questions surrounding justice and truth. I hope the audience will once again embrace Sundaramurthy’s journey.”
Actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar says:
“What immediately drew me to the series ‘Sattamum Needhiyum’ was its unique perspective on justice. Rather than relying solely on the conventional elements of a case—such as facts, evidence, and eyewitness testimonies—the series explores profound questions regarding morality and accountability. It consistently challenges the audience’s thinking, unfolding as a gripping suspense drama that keeps viewers deeply engaged in the pursuit of justice.
Instead of focusing only on the final verdict of a case, it delves into the people, emotions, and circumstances that lie behind it…”
“Stories set against a courtroom backdrop become truly compelling when explored in depth. My character adds a new dimension to this narrative. It was incredibly exciting to delve into the complex facets of the legal world through this story. I look forward to the audience experiencing the twists, conflicts, and revelations that unfold in this new season.”

Working with such talented artists—Saravanan, who once again commands attention with his stellar performance as Sundaramurthy, and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, who brings a new dimension to the narrative through her powerful screen presence—has greatly enriched the storytelling experience. As a director, collaborating with such gifted actors and exploring fresh facets within the courtroom drama genre has been both deeply exciting and creatively fulfilling.
The second season has allowed us to expand the narrative while remaining true to the core essence of the series. I am eager for the audience to experience this fast-paced, thought-provoking journey.”
