Based on real-life incidents in director Mari Selvaraj’s life, the film is a heart-warming masterpiece that has won the hearts of critics and audiences across the globe.
The story of the film revolves around the life of Shivanaithan (Ponvel), a young boy who lives with his widowed mother (Janaki) and his elder sister Vembu (Divya Thuraisamy).
Both Shivanaithan’s mother and sister work hard as laborers in the banana fields, and the boy Shivanaithan is forced to work alongside them during school holidays.
One day, Shivanaithan’s mother falls ill and sends her young son to work in his stead. What happens then is bananas.
The film stars child star Ponvel as the lead and stars Nikila Vimal, Divya Thuraisamy and Kalaiyarasan in pivotal roles.
