This heartwarming flick that has already adored several global platforms of Film Festivals has been selected on 40 occasions winning 23 Nominations and 17 Awards!
Coming from a filmmaker who gave us Mann, expectations soared high and it is only fair to say that this flick lives up to it!
The screenplay sketches the sufferings of Sri Lankan Tamils following the war on account of which many lost their lives, properties, kith and kin so on and so forth…
Many male lives were lost as an outcome of which women had to practice the world’s oldest profession in order to support their children.
While Puthiyavan Rasaiya plays Sundaram a fearless fighter for social causes, Navayuga Kugaraja is Kasthoori who wages a lone battle against several odds!
Both have come up with commendable portrayals.
The linear narration drags a bit but the objectivity of the filmmaker finds its purpose in the presentation.
The scenario showcased at Killinochchi is mind boggling!

Like the way the title denotes a singular palm tree, the film too stands out singularly, in tall order!
