“Then Chennai” – New Action Film to showcase MARCOS Underwater Training on the Screen!
The upcoming movie “Then Chennai” in its final stages of post-production, plans to bring a fresh and exhilarating story on to the screen, focusing on the South Chennai area. Produced and Directed by debutant Ranga, this action thriller stars Ranga himself as the male protagonist and Riya as the Female lead and looking forward to captivate audiences from all walks of life.
Depicting South Chennai in a unique perspective, director Ranga is crafting this action thriller with the lives of the characters in the city during various times including covid era. Also in main roles are Nithin Mehta, ex-army officer turned actor, and Elango Kumanan, renowned for his stage play “Ponniyin Selvan”. The movie also features prominent roles played by Vathan Natarajan, Suma, Aaru Bala, Dhileepan, Tharani, and others.
Background Music for the film is composed by Jen Martin (“Da Da” tamil movie fame) the background scores are expected to enhance the thrilling atmosphere. The debutant film maker Ranga also penned lyrics for the beautiful melody song “Puthu Vaanam Puthu Bhoomi,” sung by National award winning singer Naresh Iyer, and composed by talented Siva Pathmayan.
The movie mostly shot in Chennai and Bengaluru, the cinematography of Sarath Kumar(BOFTA alumni) and editing of C.M.Elangghovan are sure to take audience experience to better levels.
The unique poster visuals, mesmerizing song and the intense teaser trailer release online has drawn significant interest.
“Then Chennai” also includes some exclusive scenes showcasing some special military training sequences. These Marine commando underwater training workouts, survival techniques have been carefully filmed to bring an authentic touch. There are sure to be an fresh and engaging experience for the audience.
As the film nears the censor examination, an official announcement regarding the release date is expected soon.
