Based on a true story, this is a well conceived and crafted flick that sketches the life and times of an Army Captain, Mukund Varadarajan brilliantly enacted by Sivakarthikeyan whose passion from childhood is joining and serving the Army. His college crush (Sai Pallavi, too good for words!) joins him as his life partner, staying strong even after he is martyred!
Though the film is long the viewers feel no boredom at all as the screenplay is well structured and the pace stays steady, all the time!
The scenes and sequences have been tactfully planned with the portions of the Army scenario bearing an indelible stamp of authenticity.
The music, camera work and editing – all the three add an additional flavor to the proceedings. Humor, emotions, romance, family sentiments – all in the right measure.
While the hero is a Hindu and the heroine, a Christian, the film does not take sides.
Also, the film doesn’t paint a dark picture of the agitators in question. The issues pertaining to Kashmir have been dealt with, with a touch of sensitivity.
Needless to mention, this film is certain to emerge as the top winner in the Diwali race!
The involvement of Sony Pictures in this project has additional credibility to this flick that stands out tall amidst the other releases, this season!
