January 18th, 2025, marked the 100th Birth Anniversary of a doyen in Indian Cinema, a famous Director, actor and script writer, Sri. Chittajallu Srinivasa Rao. He is the son of legendary Director of the Telugu Cinema Industry, Sri Chittajallu Pullaiah. CS Rao has directed 65 movies in many South Indian languages, namely, Tamil, Telugu, Kanada, Malayalam and Oriya. He has also worked as an Actor in Telugu & Tamil movies.
On this day NGL Trust is celebrating the film journey of Cine Director C S Rao – his daughter Smt. Devi Krishna along with the Rotary Club of Chennai Spotlight, Rotary International District 3234, takes pride in conferring the Lifetime Achievement Award to Sri. V. A. K. Ranga Rao, an octogenarian, film historian, dancer and music scholar, who holds a record for his collection of over 53,000, 78 rpm gramaphone records in Indian and foreign languages. Several members of the film fraternity, Rotarians, well wishers and family will be present at this event at Andhra Social and Cultural Association, T. Nagar, Chennai.
The event was punctuated by some clips from his films as well as A. V. that chronicled the life and times of the legendary filmmaker, who has made about 22 films with the legendary turned politician, N. T. R.
C S Rao was hailed as a Speed Filmmaker who is the receiptent of 2 National Awards!
V. A. K. Ranga Rao, Film Historian was also honored on the occasion and he spoke about C S Rao in a fitting manner! A memorable event!
