“I hope Bhavatharini’s soul has reached peace”; Musician Ilayaraja’s resilience at the music launch of Puyalil Oru Dhoni
“As long as there is wind, Bhavatharini’s music and voice will spread everywhere”; Poet Snegan Urukkam at the music launch of Puyalil Oru Dhoni
The film ‘Puyalil Oru Dhoni’ is produced by Jaleel under B.G. Pictures. The film stars newcomers Vishnuprakash, Archanasingh, Ilavarasu, Radharavi, Namo Narayanan and others and is directed by Eesan. The late music composer Bhavatharini has composed the music for this film. This is also the last film he composed for.
The death of Bhavatharini, the daughter of musician Ilayaraja, playback singer and music composer Bhavatharini, at a very young age, was a shock to the film and music world last year. Yesterday (Feb-12) her birthday and memorial day were celebrated together at her memorial service. Following that, musician Ilayaraja released the music for his latest film ‘Puyalil Oru Dhoni’.
Musician Ilayaraja also shared his memories of Bhavatharini and performed songs sung by Bhavatharini through his orchestra. Music director and composer Gangai Amaran, director Venkat Prabhu, music composer Karthik Raja, poet Snehan, producer D. Siva, J.M. Basheer and many others attended the event and paid their respects to Bhavatharini.
Later, speaking, Ilayaraja said, “Today is also Bhavatharini’s birthday. The surprising thing is that her birthday and death date fell on the same day. This has not happened to anyone often. I would like to mention this here as a good example of her soul having reached peace. The producers requested that the audio launch of his last film ‘Puyalil Oru Dhoni’ be held here. My team will be composing and singing the songs composed and sung by Bhavatharini here in her memory. I will never forget the days Bhavatharini spent with me before she left this world,” he said with emotion.
Speaking, poet Snehan said, “This year has been like a dream in an environment where I cannot believe whether what happened was real or not. Like the veena playing without vibration in the musician’s Nandavan, the love and music of sister Bhavatharini are so beautiful. Even my brothers Karthik Raja and Yuvan would be jealous when they see the love they express. There is a reality hidden in that love. Both of them would hold Bhavatharini like an angel.
Musician Ilayaraja would not show anything in a big way. However, he would keep that love for Bhavatharini in his heart to the extent of the sky. Even though that musical temple is not with us today, every swara and raga that he played will be with us as long as there is air. I have worked with him in many films. I have also written a song for a Dhoni film in Puyalil. Karthik Raja has also sung a song in it.
Bhavatharini is someone who can listen to the lyricists beautifully and get what she needs. In that way, I am proud to be on the sidelines of her life story. The producer and director of the film, Eesan, loved her music and made Bhavatharini compose music for this film.
We thought of holding a grand audio launch ceremony for this film when Bhavatharini was there. But today, the situation has arisen that this ceremony will be held under the leadership of musicologist Ilayaraja. As long as there is air, Bhavatharini’s music and voice will be everywhere. One voice in a thousand, a million is Bhavatharini’s voice. Hers is a soothing voice, as if her head has been combed by the breeze. There is no chance of another voice like that coming here. “On behalf of the film crew, we thank musician Ilayaraja for giving us this opportunity.”
