The executives of the Tamil Film Producers Association have issued a statement in which on 09.04. 2025, the President of the South Indian Film Workers’ Association, Mr. R. K. Selvamani, once again spoke slanderously about the Tamil Film Producers’ Association in a press conference, which is highly condemnable.

In order to prevent the workers’ association from starting from the Tamil Film Producers’ Association, in the name of the mother association’s guidance, in the interest of Tamil film producers, in order to provide more employment to Tamil Nadu workers and to provide an opportunity to the youth who are studying in Tamil Nadu and looking for work, many members who are dissatisfied with all the unions in the South Indian Film Workers’ Association have formed this Tamil Film Workers’ Association. The Producers’ Association will stand by it.

Although RK Selvamani understood well that the Tamil Film Producers Association is a separate organization and the Tamil Nadu Film Workers Federation is a separate organization, he deliberately misunderstands it and speaks ill of the newly formed federation. When there are so many unions in Tamil Nadu, why should Mr. Selvamani talk about the Tamil Film Workers Federation and why should he be afraid of this federation? If it is a dupakur union, why should he repeatedly talk about it in the media and make it big. He has resorted to a trick to divide the producers in order to save his position. There is a proverb that if the town is divided, there is a celebration. R.K. Selvamani is currently dividing the producers into two groups and betraying the workers by keeping his position.

The South Indian Film Workers Federation has been signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Tamil Film Producers Association for a long time. In that regard, RK Selvamani says that he has signed the MoU for the last three times and received a salary increase from the Tamil Film Producers’ Council and has not done anything now. Furthermore, how is it fair for Tamil film producers to join hands with some selfish executives in the current Producers’ Council, which broke away from the Tamil Film Producers’ Council, and say that they will only come to shoot if they get a recommendation letter from the current Producers’ Council? R.K. Selvamani and all the executives, including the current union secretary T. Siva, have created a situation where a producer has to go to the workers’ union and submit a letter.

The union was started by breaking away from the mother union to get a position. RK Selvamani has mortgaged the 25,000 workers in the 23 unions in Pepsi for his selfish interest in saving his position in the current Producers’ Council. Similarly, the producers and the workers should all understand that the whole reason for all this trouble is the conspiracy of the two to mortgage the producers and Mr. Siva in the workers’ union for his selfish interests.

T. Siva, other executives and Mr. Selvamani are creating an illusion that today it is the current Producers’ Union that produces big films. The only ones affected by this are the workers because the films of big actors are mostly shot only in foreign states. Therefore, the workers in our Tamil Nadu are getting very little employment, and without understanding this, the workers are listening to Mr. Selvamani and stopping the film shooting and pose protection work in Tamil Nadu.

The Tamil Nadu Film Workers’ Union is an organization established to provide employment to Tamil Nadu film workers for the benefit of Tamil film producers. This Tamil Nadu Film Workers’ Union is a testament to the fact that the Tamil Film Producers’ Union, the mother association of the Tamil industry, will always work with the workers in Tamil Nadu. Therefore, we inform you that the thoughts and actions of Mr. Selvamani, who is publishing news in the media that is not true, will never be accepted.

He also wrote a letter to the Tamil Film Producers and Workers’ Federation stating that shooting and post-production work is going on. That is also a false news. It is the current South Indian Film Workers’ Federation administration headed by Mr. R. K. Selvamani who has sent their condolences to the producers who are engaged in shooting and post-production work.

They have forcibly obtained letters through production managers. Production managers are supposed to support the producers and look after the work. But it is very sad that they are the puppets of RK Selvamani.

We also inform you that the Chennai Police Commissioner has met with them regarding the above issue and based on the explanation given by the executives of the Tamil Film Producers Association, the Chennai Police Commissioner has assured that appropriate security will be provided on behalf of the police.
