Having been selected at the following Film Festivals- Focus South Asia, Jio Miami Mumbai Film Festival, 2023, International Film Festival, Rotterdam, Sao Paulo International Film Festival, 2024 and Bengaluru International Film Festival etc, this is a typical Festival film shot in low key light in the lovely locales of Lovedale , Ooty, deliberating on the life of three boys, the eldest bring a 13- year old -Karthik (Mithun), his two younger siblings -Gautham(Nithin) and Dhruv (Rithik Mohan). Their dad, Rajkumar (Abdul Rafe) is a strict disciplinarian who runs a School, at where, the 3 boys are studying.
The School gets into rough weather and Rajkumar is a much dejected man, even unable to pay salaries!
At home, he keeps all the three boys under a strict regiment, treating them almost like slaves, forcing them to do all household chores!
Kathy, the dog of the house, is everybody’s pet.
Padma(Prarthana Srikanth) makes an entry there and she is none other than Rajkumar ‘s wife , whom, he had differed with in many counts and had driven her out, we infer!
Her efforts to reconcile and join her family prove to be futile as Rajkumar just doesn’t want her to be there! Why so and why such a stand is a billion dollar question!
Rajkumar hands over the management of his school to another person (Hariharan) and moves on following which he gets an opportunity to join an International School as its Principal in Andhra.
As he remains adamant, Padma is forced to leave them and stage a walk out!
The boys agree to move to Andhra with their dad as they have no choice!
The curtains are drawn down with the death of Kathy, appearing as an unfinished end!
There is no valid reason as to why Rajkumar wants his wife away but on the contrary, he is shown enjoying the scenario when Padma is with them all, cooking and taking care of the children. What does he want, then?
Also, there is no justification as to why he treats his children badly while also insisting that they should be class toppers!
Being an educationalist, how can he be so cruel and crude to his own sons?
The director has left a lot of questions unanswered but his efforts to come up with a quality film that qualifies to be showcased at Global Festivals needs to be commended.
All the three boys are impressive while Abdul Rafe looks perfect for the character.
