The trailer of the film ‘Yaadhum Ariyaan’ has shaken both Tamil cinema and Tamil Nadu politics. In particular, following the scenes in the trailer such as Vijay becoming the Chief Minister in 2026, T.R.K. workers and Vijay fans are celebrating the trailer, while on the other hand, many celebrities from the film industry are praising the trailer of the film.
The team of ‘Yaadhum Ariyaan’, which will be released in theaters on July 18, shared with the press about the response received by the public and the impact it has made in the film industry and politics.
The film’s director and producer M. Gopi said about the film, “I am a Vijay fan, and as everyone travels in the film industry, I had the expectation that we would make a film with him! But as his subsequent announcements were coming, it was a shock to learn that he is going to stop acting with his 69th film. It has become impossible to work with him anymore. At the same time, we included such scenes in the film because there is a place to talk about him. It is completely fictional and there is no other political propaganda in it.”
Dinesh, the hero of the film, said, “Despite coming from a very big family background, I have acted only by listening to what the director said when it comes to cinema. I have kept my background aside and worked hard for this film. I have worked without sleeping for about 15 days. After the director decided that I would be suitable for such a role, I have worked as hard as I could for this film.
The scenes about Vijay in the film’s trailer have created a lot of buzz. Many are also saying that the trailer is like an explanation for Vijay’s political propaganda. But, at first, I thought, do I want such scenes and dialogues in my film!, and I hesitated. But, from the director’s perspective, those scenes go with the script, so I accepted it as an actor.” He said.
The story moves from 2024 to 2026. Is there any time traveler concept in the film? Director M. Gopi, who answered the question, said, “There is no time traveler concept in the film, but there will be such incidents, how is that possible? The question will move the film interestingly. Also, the difference between other psycho thriller films and our film is that it is a journey like time travel. How we have handled it will be very interesting.” He said.
Speaking about Sivakarthikeyan’s praise, hero Dinesh said, “Actor Sivakarthikeyan, who saw the trailer of the film, said that the trailer is very good. He praised many things like cinematography, music, editing. He congratulated the film crew and said that everything, including the actors’ performances and making, was very good.”
Talking about his first film acting experience, actor Dinesh said, “Although I have acted in small roles in a few films, I have played the hero in this film. This is not a story written for me. I was introduced to director Gopi through a friend. When he met me, he made me act only because he felt that I would be suitable for the story he had. I have also acted day and night for 15 days without sleeping. I am sure that the film will be liked by the people.”
Was this story written to make Dinesh play the hero? Director Gopi, in response to the question, said, “I had already written this story before meeting Dinesh. When I decided to produce it myself, I was working on a plan to make it within a specific budget. At that time, I met Dinesh through a friend, and I also came to know that he was interested in acting. When I spoke to him, I felt that he would be a good fit for my story. I then narrated the story to him, and he also liked the story. At the same time, I told him that I am making him act in this film only because he has you as the hero of my story, and I do not expect anything from you regarding the film’s content.
Dinesh also left everything aside, including his work, and traveled with us as a debutant actor. He got along very well with the other actors in the film and went through all the hardships that the film crew went through.
He himself enjoyed it and helped complete the film in 15 days. As an actor, he definitely gave his full cooperation in this film, and this film is also an opportunity to showcase his talent.” He said.
Breaking Point Pictures’ production company, ‘Yaathum Aaliyan’, directed by M. Gopi, has debutant actor Dinesh playing the lead role. Prana is playing the female lead. Along with them, Vijay TV KPY Anand Pandi, Shyamal, and Appukutty play very important roles.
