Press meet of actor Udaya’s ‘Accused’ film
The press meet of the film ‘Accused’, starring actors Udaya – Ajmal – Yogi Babu in the lead roles, was held in Chennai.
Directed by Prabhu Srinivas, ‘Acoust’ features Udaya, Ajmal, Yogi Babu, Janvika, Prabhakar, Dani, Subhadra and many others. I. Marudhanayakam has handled the cinematography and Narain Balakumar has composed the music for this film. This action-family entertainer is being produced by Udaya – ‘Daya’ N. Panneerselvam – M. Thangavel on behalf of Jason Studios – Sachin Cinemas – Sri Dayakaran Cine Production and My Studios.
The press conference was held in Chennai as the film crew was busy promoting the film ‘Accused’, which will be released in theaters worldwide on August 1st. The film crew participated in the event.
Producer Panneerselvam said, “We started the work on this film on January 2nd this year and are releasing it in theaters worldwide on August 1st. I would like to express my first gratitude to actor Udaya for his full cooperation in completing a film so quickly and releasing it in theaters.
Director Prabhu Srinivas met us through Udaya to tell us the story of the film. Since we liked the story he told, we started the work on the film with a pooja the next day. Following Udaya, actors Ajmal and Yogi Babu were signed to play important roles in the story. Following them, the director and Udaya selected suitable people for their respective roles, including heroine Janvika, Pawan, Prabhakar, Bangalore Dani, and Subhadra.
In particular, Yogi Babu, while acting in the film, provided full cooperation by setting aside fourteen days for Udaya.
Cinematographer Marudhanayakam, music composer Naren Balakumar, stunt master Silva, editor Shyam and other talented technicians also provided their full cooperation. I express my heartfelt gratitude to all of them.

Actor Dani said, ”The song in which I danced with actress Rambha in the song Oh Maria was released in 1999. After that, I am acting in this film again. Director Prabhu Srinivas went to America to avoid cinema. When I asked him, he said that he was taking a short break. But I prayed for him. After that, he called me and happily told me that I had the opportunity to direct a film in which Udaya would act.
At this time, they recreated the song ‘Oh Maria..’ on Vijay TV. For that, I came from Bangalore to Chennai and danced. At that time, I received a call from director Prabhu Srinivas. I went straight to the shooting site of the film. There, he told me that I should play the role of an assistant police inspector.
Every artist is met by fans at the airport, in public places, in shopping malls and just one word, ‘I have seen your film’, is enough to give that artist a huge boost. But no one recognized me or identified me. I was yearning for it. At this time, he told me that if I want to play the role of an assistant police inspector, I have to cut my hair. I thought about it.
I acted with Nagesh in the film ‘Minnale’. I have acted with Goundamani in the film ‘Kadhalar Dhina’. I have acted with Vadivelu in the film ‘Kavithai’. I have acted with many comedy actors. In that sense, I wanted to act with Yogi Babu. That is why I agreed to act in this film. Not only with Yogi Babu but also with Ajmal and Udaya.
I agreed to act in this film in the hope that I would get a big recognition again if I acted in it. I also agreed to cut my hair. I have acted as an encounter specialist in this film. I thank director Prabhu Srinivas for giving me this opportunity.

Music composer Naren Balakumar said, “Working on the film ‘Accused’ was a great experience for me. We composed the songs for the film in January itself. The first copy was ready within six months. The main reason why I joined this team is Udaya. My first thanks to him.
There are three songs in this film. I believe that I have composed the background music to enhance the screenplay of this film. I request all of you to watch the film in theaters on August 1 and give your review,” he said.
Actor Prabhakar said, “Although I have acted in a few films in Kannada, this is my first film in Tamil. I have acted in Kannada films directed by director Prabhu Srinivas. He was the one who gave me the opportunity to play the villain in this film. He often says that I will use your talent when I get a chance. When he told me the story of the film, I happily agreed to act. I did not know Tamil. But after coming here, I learned Tamil. Also, since the character is on the Tamil Nadu-Karnataka border in the film, they gave me the opportunity to speak in my own voice for the scenes I acted in. I also thank actor Udaya for this.
My character in this film will be about chasing a bus, car, and running. Due to this, I loved acting very much.
We all worked happily together as one family on the set. This experience is unforgettable,” he said.
Director Prabhu Srinivas said, ”Although I have directed films in Kannada, my film career started in Tamil. I have worked as a choreographer for films starring Sundar C – Dhanush – Arjun. After working as a choreographer for almost 400 songs, as soon as I got the opportunity to direct a film in Kannada, I went there and directed the film. I directed five films in a row with the same producer. After that, I produced and directed a film on my own. This is the seventh film to be released under my direction. But the first film in Tamil.
I have earned a name as an action film director in Kannada. When I made my debut in Tamil, I had planned to direct a very big film. For this, I met and held talks with some heroes like Lawrence and Vishal. But nothing was possible. At this point, my family members advised me, ‘You should not think like that. When you directed the film in Kannada, it was a small film. But that film was released and became a huge success. So, think that the film you direct should be a huge success and make it.’ After that, I went to America for six months.
After that, it was PRO Nikhil Murugan who gave the lead role to this acoustic film. He was the one who was listening to the story of Udaya. He said to meet him and tell him the story. After that, I met him and told him the story. After listening to the whole story, he said that the story is good. Especially my character is good. He said that we will meet the producer tomorrow. The next day, the producers Panneerselvam – Thangavel – Udaya – were there. The producers also liked the story. But everyone said that the budget was high. But they completed the shooting without any problems during the 60 days of shooting, providing all the facilities I asked for. The technicians I got were also talented. So I had complete freedom to make the film. We bought a bus for one and a half crore rupees, used it for shooting and then sent it for scrap. Udaya is the whole reason for this.
Ajmal played a role parallel to the hero in this story. He was given the story. He has been providing full cooperation from the very beginning till now.
We held talks with Yogi Babu for another character in the story. After listening to the story, he agreed to act and as per our request, he gave a call sheet and cooperated for 14 days continuously.
Naren Balakumar has composed the music for this film. Even though my relative is a music composer, I wanted a new music composer for this film. For this, Udaya introduced Naren Balakumar, who composed the music for his film ‘Uttharau Maharaja’. I fell in love with his song as soon as I heard it. I also liked the songs composed by him in this film. My sons also liked it. If a song is sung by children at a young age, that song becomes a hit. Naren has mesmerized the background music as well as the songs. I am not exaggerating anything about this film, you will understand if you watch the film.
This film will mesmerize everyone. If there is any expectation about this film, it will be more than that. There will be twists in the screenplay that no one will guess. The film will be a must-watch from start to finish,” he said.

I also said that this is the budget for me. But the Acquist story he told is a big budget film. When I told this to the producer, they were in favor of it. That is why this film came into being.
