Velammal Matriculation Higher Secondary School Champion
FIFA World Schools Team Championship 2025 was held in Washington, D.C., USA from August 2 to 7.
For the first time from India, the Velammal Matriculation Higher Secondary School players from Tamil Nadu went to the US to participate in this competition.
Leading by the school’s coach-team captain S. Velavan, the players Keerthi Sri Reddy (WFM), Aswath.S (IM), Dakshinarun (FM), Ilamparithi (IM) AR, Pranav KP (FM) participated on behalf of this school.
A total of eight rounds. In the eight consecutive rounds, the school faced Mongolia, Hungary, Austria, America, Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan and won all eight rounds without losing.
More than 250 participants and teams from 55 best schools from all over the world participated in this event held at Episcopal High School in Washington, DC, USA.
The five players and the team captain, S. Velayudham, have brought pride to the country, the state, and the school.
