25,000 saplings across Tamil Nadu in 6 months – Actor Soundararaja’s amazing plan
Actor Soundararaja is famous for playing different roles in various films in the Tamil film industry. Actor Soundararaja, who has acted in many films in many languages not only in Tamil but also in the South Indian film industry, is actively involved in various social initiatives apart from acting.
He has started and is running a social welfare foundation called Mannukkum Jagannathram to enable him to work towards the society. Accordingly, actor Soundararaja has planned to plant and nurture 25,000 saplings across Tamil Nadu from August 11 this year through his Mannukkum Jagannathram Social Welfare Foundation.
Actor Soundararaja made the announcement at the ninth anniversary of the Mannu and People Social Welfare Foundation held at the Police Convention Center in Avadi, Chennai. In the last 9 years, 45,000 saplings have been planted and nurtured.
At the ceremony held yesterday, a pledge was taken to plant and nurture 25,000 saplings across Tamil Nadu in the next six months. Every year, starting from August 11, members of the Mannu and People Foundation plant, protect and nurture saplings for six months.
All over Tamil Nadu, people are planting palm trees around water bodies, planting native trees and protecting and nurturing them. They are also involved in various initiatives aimed at protecting nature and water bodies. The Soil and People Trust, which is doing very important services to nature and the environment, promotes and appreciates natural farming, and every year gives the Nammalvar Award and an incentive of Rs. 5000 to natural farmers.
In addition, the Soil and People Trust is engaged in the work of planting saplings for individuals, and on special days, if those who want to plant saplings buy saplings, they plant them in the right place and maintain them. 250 volunteers are working on this work.
As the beginning of the project to plant 25,000 saplings throughout Tamil Nadu, 100 saplings were planted at the Police Convention Center in Avadi, Chennai under the leadership of actor Soundararaja. An hour after the saplings were planted, heavy rain suddenly fell there. The rain that fell after planting 100 saplings surprised those present. Police officials said that this is a good start.
