India’s leading OTT platform ZEE5 is releasing the much-awaited Malayalam horror-comedy film Sumathi Valavu as its world digital premiere on September 26. Directed by Vishnu Sasi Shankar, the film stars Arjun Asokan, Gokul Suresh, Saiju Group, Balu Varghese, Malavika Manoj and Shivatha in the lead roles. The film is also being released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi for audiences across the country.
The film is based on a famous bend in Kerala. Sumathi Valavu, after the tragic death of a young woman named Sumathi, is said to be a place of terror. Everyone who crosses the bend experiences strange and supernatural experiences. The supernatural events that occur on the bend change the lives of many, and the story moves forward as a blend of myth and reality, tragedy and fear, past and present.
