Pradeep-Mamita in the film ‘Dude’ like Rajini-Sridevi couple ~ Director Keertheeswaran!
‘Dude’ is a film directed by debutant director Keertheeswaran and produced by Mythri Movie Makers. Actors Pradeep Ranganathan and Mamita Baiju are playing the lead roles in this film and it will be released this month for Diwali festival.
Director Keertheeswaran has worked as an assistant director to director Sudha Kongara for six or seven years. The 27-year-old, who is directing his first film, shares his experience with the film ‘Dude’, saying, “I told the story of the film ‘Dude’ to the production company Mythri Movie Makers through my cinematographer Niketh Bommi. They liked the story immediately, so we started working on the film. When I started writing the story of ‘Dude’, I wrote it keeping in mind how Rajini sir would have acted in this story if he was 30 years old. Pradeep Ranganathan is very attached to it. Pradeep also liked the story, so he agreed.
In the film, Pradeep and Mamita will run an event management company. We have shot entirely in Chennai.
There is not only a love subject, but also a mass in the story. You will understand that when you watch the film. It is like my dream has come true that my first film as a director will be released for Diwali.”
When asked about choosing Mamita Baiju as the heroine, he said, “When I suggested Mamita for this film, her film ‘Premalu’ had not even been released. We chose her after watching the film ‘Super Saranya’. As soon as Mamita came into the story, it seemed like the film had come out like what it would be like if ‘Rajini-Sridevi’ acted together.”
He also said, “We have worked hard on everything from costumes, locations, visuals. My technical team is a huge strength for the film. Sai Abhayarkar is someone who is keen to try new things in music. His music has also come out well. Since the director, hero, heroine, and music composer are all from the young generation, many are asking if this is a Gen Z film. The film will be an entertainment film that the youth and family audiences of this era will watch and celebrate. Along with Pradeep and Mamita, actors Sarathkumar, Rohini, and David of Paritaphangal fame also play roles. It has all the things you usually expect from a Pradeep film. Watch the film and tell me.”
