‘Dhaarani’ is a film produced by P Lalitha under Manonmani Creations. Directed by director Anand, the film has Maari as the protagonist and Aparna and Vimala as the heroines. Anand, Illakiya, Imran, Sasi and others have played important roles.
Gayathri Gurunath has composed the music for the film. Venkatesh Maverick has handled the cinematography and Naveen Sundar has handled the editing. The music and trailer launch of the film was held yesterday evening at the Saligramam Prasad Lab. in Chennai.
Director Subramania Siva, Cable Shankar, music composer Tajnoor, actor Vijay Vishwa, Sinhala actor Kamlesh and stunt master Jaguar Thangam were present as special guests at the event.
Along with the music and trailer launch of the film, the first look poster of the film’s next film, En Thirai, was also released.

Since we see women as gods, we see them as ghosts. It is not an ordinary thing to perform puja for the second film at the audio release of the first film. You are doing that. During MGR’s era, his fans sold their blood to watch his films. That is cinema. You have entered such a cinema. You should make good and special films and achieve great success,” he congratulated.

“Dhaarani is an interesting ghost film just by watching the trailer. They have started shooting in all areas, including Chennai and Kodambakkam, now Trichy and Tirunelveli. Cinema is becoming a popular and equal industry. But no matter where a film is shot, it has to come to Chennai to release it. We watch a lot of films to buy films for OTT platforms. When we watch some films, we say, don’t spend money on releasing it, book two theaters in your town and show it to the fans. There are also those who spend money without listening to that and shoot their hands.
It has become easier to make a film, but it has become even more difficult to take it to the people. Some films are good films but cannot be released in theaters. We release such films on our OTT Plus platform. Recently, we even released a film called Kasivu like this. It is going well. Today In this context, it is much safer to release small budget films on OTT platforms than to release them in theaters.
Just like making films secretly, releasing them should not be done secretly. It should be advertised. Going to colleges and promoting films is a waste of time.. so there is no point. We should target the audience for our films and market them properly.
If you can earn a little bit. Small films are the ones that have saved the cinema business till now. People are no longer watching cinema in theaters.. The places where they watch it are changing now, if we take our films to those places, the film will definitely be successful,” he said.

Director Subramania Siva said that Sundar.C said that if you make a film with a ghost, you will be successful. Recently, when director Ameer was speaking, he said that instead of making a film with an invisible god and ghost, make a film with a visible caste. I do not know which one is right. So, in the process, it would be better to take what we feel is right and positive. The same ticket is for all films, big and small heroes. But it depends on the advertisements whether they are small films or big films,” he said.

This is my first film. Moreover, since this film was made with completely new people, we have made this film amidst great difficulties. My family did not even know that I was directing such a film until four months ago. My story is like Vijay Sethupathi sir.. I lied about going to the office and went around for cinema. This matter came to light at home only in a difficult situation. Even when I was not there, co-director Sasikumar supported this film.
I have made this film Dhaarani based on how much a woman struggles to come up in this film industry, but how much she is affected by some people in this film industry. Actor Kamlesh agreed to act in the film ‘En Thiri’ as my next film after watching the trailer of this film. No one else would give me such an opportunity when the first film was not released.
