Directors Club organized a grand short film festival titled “Value 5”!!
The Directors Club, led by Mr. Sakthi, with the participation of assistant directors from the Tamil film industry, organized a grand short film award ceremony on November 1st at the Vadapalani Bharani Studio in Chennai.
The festival organizers had set up an opportunity to use this as an opportunity to showcase the storytelling skills of the participants within five minutes and value them by watching the silver screen directors who directed the films and selecting them directly in the venue and receiving the award.
The special feature of this compared to other short film festivals is that before taking money for registration, money will not be accepted unless the films are selected to be screened. However, they had set different rules that all the films selected to participate will be screened on the screen.
A total of 35 short films were screened at this short film festival. Creators ranging from 13 to 74 years of age participated.
Celebrities from the film industry including four National Award-winning director Cheran, National Award-winning director Brahma, director Nanda Periyasamy, music composer and director SS Kumaran, director E. V. Ganeshbabu, director Mahakanthan, director Haroon, actors Sampath Ram, Vijay Vishwa, Michael Thangadurai, Sriram Karthik, Ashok Balakrishnan, Vijith and producer Captain M. P Anand attended and graced the festival.
The ceremony, which began at exactly three o’clock, screened 35 short films in the presence of judges. Certificates of participation were given to all those who attended, awards and certificates to the technicians for best actor, best cinematographer, best editor, best music composer, and awards and certificates for the three best films. A short film by a 13-year-old boy and a short film by a 74-year-old man were screened. They were appreciated by everyone and were given special awards to encourage them.
Directors Club Charitable Trust is a social and film training organization based in Chennai, started in 2016 by Assistant Director Shakthi. It operates entirely on WhatsApp and brings together aspiring assistant directors who are not professional assistant directors in the cinema industry, but who do not have much connections and who want to change their lives in the film industry as directors, actors, or technicians. It provides training in 24 types of film arts. It also brings experts from the respective fields to the group and provides an opportunity to ask their film-related questions to them. In this, Abhirami, Sundar C, A. R. Murugadoss, Lokesh Kanagaraj, Karthik Subbaraj, Santhosh Sivan, producers Dhananjayan, S. R. Prabhu, Kalaipuli S. Thanu, Nelson, Siva Karthikeyan, Mani Ratnam, Rajamouli and more than thirty leading film personalities participated and shared not only their experiences but also many things.
Through this organization, in its previous annual festivals, it has given many talents an opportunity to showcase their talents and provide them with a wonderful opportunity to enter various fields. This short film festival called “Value 5 short film festival” is an attempt to give a platform to many new creators and make many good talents known to the public.
