Statement by Director Pa. Ranjith
The Central Board of Film Certification’s handling of the ‘Jananaayagan’ film’s censorship issue is extremely deplorable. The possibility of this being driven by personal political animosity is blatantly evident.
Similarly, I have shared on several occasions the pressures faced by my films and those produced by Neelam Productions, much like the pressures exerted on the film ‘Parasakthi’. However, what has happened with ‘Jananaayagan’ indicates that the censorship board has fallen under undue influence.
Furthermore, this kind of reprehensible behavior, which is being rigorously pursued to suppress dissenting voices, must be strongly condemned. Let us raise our voices to protect creative freedom and to ensure that the Central Board of Film Certification functions independently in the future.
