“This society does not pay much attention to the farmers who work day and night to provide us with food; they are not properly recognized. The respect for them is decreasing day by day. However, their hard work has never stopped.
We have been continuously presenting these ‘Farmer Awards’ to celebrate those who work dedicatedly for farmers and agriculture without any expectations, and to introduce them to this society.
Only when conversations about agriculture continue in our daily lives will a positive change occur. Such events and discussions are essential to create that situation. That is why I will continue to do this,” he said.
At this event, various agriculture-related issues and their solutions were discussed in detail, including the problems of agricultural laborers, the necessity of waste management, the role of women in agriculture, the need for local markets for small and marginal farmers, and the importance of restoring water bodies.
In short, the ‘Uzhavar Awards 2026’ event served as a program that helped everyone fully understand agriculture, its challenges, and the necessary initiatives to address them.
