‘Love Insurance Kampany’ (LIK) Pre-Release Event – A Collaboration Between Pradeep Ranganathan and Vignesh Shivan!!

Starring Pradeep Ranganathan—one of the leading actors in the Tamil film industry—as the protagonist, and directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Vignesh Shivan, the film LIK (Love Insurance Kampany) is set to release worldwide on April 10th.

The pre-release event for this highly anticipated film—which fans have been awaiting with immense eagerness—was held with great grandeur at a private college auditorium, in the presence of a massive fan base numbering in the thousands.

The entire film crew was in attendance at the event.

Speaking at the occasion, Editor Pradeep E. Raghav stated:

“Working on this film was a truly monumental experience for me. I garnered so many wonderful memories throughout this journey—memories so rich that one could almost make an entirely separate film just out of that experience alone! Those memories remain etched in my mind to this day. When Vignesh Shivan first narrated the story of this film, I was initially skeptical; I lacked the confidence to imagine how such a concept could actually be brought to life on screen.

I harbored doubts about how we were going to translate such a unique concept into a feature film. Once I heard the script, I immediately realized the sheer magnitude of the work involved; consequently, I felt an underlying anxiety about when the project would finally be completed and ready for release.

The entire film is built upon a concept rooted in the future. As a result, every single location and every individual scene had to be meticulously crafted using a combination of computer graphics and intricate art direction. Since every single shot presented a significant challenge, I felt a sense of apprehension at the outset. However, our director—Vignesh Anna (Vicky Bro)—

handled the entire process with exceptional skill and has beautifully brought this film to life.

The manner in which the music was composed for this film was also a novel experience for me. Typically, a song is created first, and the corresponding visuals are subsequently filmed to match it. In this instance, however, the visuals were filmed first; lyrics were then penned to complement those specific scenes, and only after that was the actual song composed. It was a truly unique and distinct experience for me.” The experience of editing a specific song sequence remains one of my most memorable moments. I began editing at 8:00 PM and did not finish until 3:00 or 4:00 AM the next morning. The work was so engaging that I completely lost track of time. In particular, the perfect synergy between the visuals and the lyrics truly astonished me.

Both actresses in this film delivered exceptional performances. I am confident that their acting will prove to be a major strength for this movie. Each of them truly internalized and embodied their respective characters.

Whenever a film is created, there is often a lingering feeling that one could have done even better. However, hearing you speak about this film with such unwavering confidence fills us with even greater enthusiasm. Consequently, we, too, are awaiting this film’s release with immense anticipation. Thank you.

Art Director Muthuraj spoke as follows:

Working on this film was a truly joyful experience for me. First, I must speak about Pradeep. Everyone talks about his consistent streak of successes; however, it is equally evident—behind every single one of those victories—just how hard he has worked.

Especially when working with today’s youth, one can clearly observe the immense effort they pour into achieving success, as well as the subsequent dedication they demonstrate in striving to sustain that success once it is attained. Therefore, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Pradeep.

As for Anirudh—simply seeing him makes me feel young again myself! I absolutely loved his musical score for this film. It is safe to say that this creative collaboration has truly worked wonders.

Ravi Varman is a dear friend of mine. He crafts visuals as if he were painting with light itself. I often find myself engaging in creative debates with various cinematographers; however, with Ravi Varman, those discussions take on a unique dynamic. At times, he prioritizes the sheer aesthetic beauty of a single frame over strict continuity; consequently, minor details might occasionally slip through the cracks. Yet, the resulting visual remains breathtakingly beautiful. The fact that he is able to create such imagery—instantly and with lightning speed—is truly astonishing. He is a tremendous asset to this film.

Speaking of Vicky, it is extremely rare to find someone who can strike a perfect balance between the roles of a director and a writer. Yet, he is an exceptional writer. Rather than merely narrating the story as a simple fable, he continuously refines it, elevating the quality of every single scene. I harbor a personal desire to produce a film for him—one completely free from any financial constraints. That is something I am certain will happen. I am confident that he will soon emerge as one of the leading directors in the industry.

This film is set in the future. When we first began this project, we were merely conceptualizing and planning what a robot should be capable of doing. However, by the time the film was ready for release, technology had advanced to such an extent that a robot could actually be seen wearing a lungi and dancing! That is just how rapidly the world is changing.

In the times to come, we will witness profound changes across every sector. In particular, the crucial factor will be how we choose to utilize technologies such as AI. If we allow ourselves to become enslaved by them, we will be unable to…

…cannot be sustained. This applies not only to the film industry but to every profession. I felt compelled to share this thought.

I am confident that this film will undoubtedly achieve massive success. Thank you.

Director Ram spoke as follows:

I am a huge fan of Vicky. I have known Vicky since February 2012. Looking at the journey of the Vicky who walked into my office in Virugambakkam back then, and the Vignesh Shivan who sits here today—at this pinnacle of success in 2026—fills me with immense joy.

Nothing has ever come easily to Vicky. Every milestone he has reached was attained solely through sheer hard work. The stories he conceives

are far from ordinary. Had he chosen to film a different kind of story, he might have achieved immediate success. Instead, he consistently selects narratives that are novel and unexplored by others, striving to attempt something fresh with every single film. That is the true hallmark of Vignesh Shivan.

I firmly believe that if anyone in Tamil cinema has the capacity to create heartwarming films akin to 3 Idiots or Munna Bhai M.B.B.S., it is Vignesh Shivan. I heard the story of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan several times before it was made into a film. And every single time I heard it, I laughed.

He likely pitched that story to numerous leading actors. However, at that particular juncture, no one came forward to accept it.

It was at that point that I suggested he narrate it to Vijay Sethupathi. Vijay Sethupathi is someone who has paved the way—not just for Vicky, but for a multitude of young directors—creating a space for them to thrive. Naanum Rowdy Dhaan marked a pivotal turning point in Vicky’s life. Subsequently, Anirudh came on board, the song “Thangamey” was released, Nayanthara joined the project—and together, all these elements forged an entirely new path for him.

The theme of love explored in this film resonates deeply with me. Love is a phenomenon that is truly

mysterious, beautiful, and ultimately, something that defies human comprehension. It arrives suddenly—much like a flash of lightning. In that single moment—the moment hands are clasped—an entire life can change. That is precisely how Vignesh and Nayanthara came together.

No matter how advanced technology becomes, no matter how many changes sweep through the world, love alone remains unchanged. It always retains that same essence. Love is a beautiful emotion—a blend of truth and, at times, a few harmless lies. And it is the very act of believing those little lies as absolute truths that defines love.

Nowadays, we rely entirely on the internet to learn anything about anyone. Technology has evolved beyond merely providing information about a person; it now often passes judgment upon them. The world is becoming an increasingly complex place. Yet, amidst all this complexity, love remains the one constant—the one thing that never changes. Vignesh possesses the courage to conceive stories of this nature. To me, he will always be “Vignesh—the Lucky Boy.” Wherever he goes, good fortune and happiness invariably follow. I must also make mention of his mother; her sense of humor is many times sharper than Vignesh’s own. Whether she is scolding Vignesh or praising him, there is a certain charm and beauty in the way she does it. Vignesh is a rare breed—both as a writer and as a director. He translates the scenes he writes onto the screen with the exact same grandeur and vision with which he imagined them. In Tamil cinema, directors with the capacity to think on such a scale are few and far between.

The greatest strength of Tamil cinema lies in the hope it instills: the belief that anyone, regardless of their background or origin, can come here and realize their dreams. Pradeep stands as a shining example of this very ethos, and I firmly believe that this tradition will continue for generations to come. My heartfelt congratulations go out to everyone who worked on this film. Thank you.

Actor and Director RJ Balaji spoke as follows:

It gives me immense joy to see everyone gathered here today. One of the primary reasons I am standing here is Nayanthara—one of the producers of this film. It was she who reached out and invited me just three days ago. Curiously, the director himself did not call me yesterday, nor did he call me today. He is, after all, a friend of mine. However, I imagine he currently has a mountain of work piled high above his head; I assume that is why he was unable to find the time to call. I have been familiar with the story of this film since the period of 2012–2013. I have known Vignesh Shivan since 2011–2012. Among the few friends I have in the film industry, he is one of the most important. Vignesh Shivan is truly a lucky man; many people adore him. Nayanthara, too, loves him dearly. I witnessed firsthand how their romance began and how it blossomed, step by step.

When he first came and told me about it, I simply couldn’t believe it. “Is it true?” I asked. Later, I asked Nayanthara as well, and she replied, “Yes.” From that day until this very moment, the love they share remains just as intense and unwavering. It is truly beautiful. My best wishes to them both.

This film features a host of talented individuals. First, I must speak about Pradeep Ranganathan. I have known him for a long time; he is exceptionally talented. If asked today who my favorite artist in Tamil cinema is, I would unhesitatingly say Pradeep Ranganathan. I am confident that he will remain a major star for many years to come.

I must also mention Anirudh. There is a small connection between this film, him, and myself. At one point, we had planned to collaborate on a film together. That project did not materialize; however, the assistance he provided me during that time is something I can never forget. He is like a younger brother to me.
He has also been a tremendous source of support throughout Vignesh Shivn’s journey.

Krithi Shetty, I have seen you on social media, but you look even more beautiful in person. May this film bring you immense success in Tamil cinema. Gouri, my best wishes to you as well. Malavika Madam, you are always beautiful, but you look even more stunning right now. Welcome back to Tamil cinema!

The editor of this film is exceptionally talented. I believe he is one of the most significant editors of this generation. I wish him continued success and hope he goes on to create many more masterpieces.

This film represents the culmination of years of persistent effort. The team has poured their hearts and souls into working on this project—much like students dedicating four years to their studies. Now, the time has come to reap the rewards of that hard work. Please make sure to catch this film in theaters soon; I am certain you will love it.

Vignesh Shivn, you possess extraordinary talent. You are truly one of the genuine creative forces in Tamil cinema. You are an innovator who constantly thinks outside the box. Comedy, romance, music—you excel in every single aspect. I am confident that we will witness that brilliance in this film as well. Thank you for inviting me to this event. My best wishes also go out to the producers. May this film achieve massive success and bring joy to everyone involved. Thank you.

Actress Gouri Kishan spoke as follows:

First and foremost, this film holds a very special place in all our hearts. It is significant to each of us for our own unique reasons. However, the one profound lesson this film taught all of us is “patience.” Waiting—and waiting continuously—defined this entire journey. Yet, if one aspires to elevate cinema to new heights, it inevitably takes time. Therefore, I am confident that this period of waiting will prove to be entirely worthwhile.

Regarding the character “Kalki”—this marks the first time I have portrayed a glamorous role. I owe a massive debt of gratitude to Director Vicky Sir for casting me in such a role. He was the one who envisioned me in that character; truth be told, I didn’t even have the confidence to imagine myself in it. “Sir, are you sure about this?” I asked. Everyone else had looked at me in a certain way. But he said, “You need to break that mold; you have to step out of your comfort zone and move beyond your usual roles.”

Receiving that level of confidence from a director is incredibly important to me. He is someone who is always cheerful and wears a sweet smile.

He consistently made me feel—and know—that I was his favorite actress. I am deeply grateful to him for that.

Krithi Shetty—my darling. Everyone says, “She is so perfect; can anyone really be like this?” But she is truly authentic, both inside and out. Her talent, discipline, and dedication—especially at such a young age—absolutely astonished me. Working with her on this film was a wonderful experience.

Pradeep—you have now carved out a unique identity for yourself. Even though you are a director, whenever you step in as an actor, you surrender yourself completely to the

character. You offer your inputs only when they are truly needed. I consider that to be a very mature approach. I deeply admire that quality in you.

It is unfortunate that S.J. Suryah Sir is not here with us today. However, the style and performance he delivered in this film were truly exceptional. Ravi Varman Sir—his visuals are simply incomparable. As an actress, finding myself within his frames feels like a dream come true. I feel incredibly proud to have had that experience so early in my career journey.

Malavika Ma’am, Mysskin Sir, Sara Anna, Yogi Babu Sir—my heartfelt thanks go out to all my co-stars and the entire directorial team.

Paru is the one person I can always run to and confide in. She involves herself fully and works with total dedication in every aspect of the project. So many people have toiled behind the scenes to bring this film to life; the sheer amount of hard work involved is manifold greater than what you see on the surface. Throughout all of this, Paru was a tremendous source of support for me. I believe that even greater things are in store for you. My heartfelt gratitude goes out to everyone who worked on this film.

I hope you all enjoy this movie. Thank you.

Director Mysskin spoke as follows:

It has been a long time since I stood on a stage like this. To be honest, I had resolved not to make any stage appearances. However, because Vicky insisted, “You absolutely must come,” I am here. I feel honored to stand here and speak.

From the very day this film began, Vicky faced one hurdle after another at every single stage. Securing a producer, casting, setting a release date—none of it came easily.

When I was approached to act in this film, I initially declined. Later, I quoted a specific fee; however, that arrangement did not work out either. Subsequently, a different actor was brought in. The release date, too, was rescheduled multiple times. Even yesterday, for this very event, the rain played spoilsport. He has endured so many hardships throughout this journey. Yet, I am confident that all these struggles will ultimately transform into a monumental success for him. I believe this film is destined to be a massive hit.

I consider myself to be one of the most honest directors in Tamil cinema…
The soundtrack has turned out wonderfully as well.
Pradeep has delivered a fantastic performance. My best wishes to Krithi Shetty. My only regret is that I couldn’t be there in person. Nevertheless, I am confident that this film will receive the love and support of all of you. You must definitely go and watch this movie in theaters; you will love it! Thank you!

Actor Pradeep Ranganathan spoke as follows:

“The film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan was a movie I watched with my ex-girlfriend back when I was in college. Since then, I have been a fan of Mr. Vignesh Shivan. It came as a huge surprise to me when he announced that he wanted to make a film starring me. I had always harbored a specific desire—to make a futuristic film someday when I became a director. I was even brainstorming story ideas for that very purpose. So, the moment he mentioned, ‘This is a futuristic film,’ I was filled with immense excitement. Films based on futuristic themes are quite rare in India. Consequently, the instant I heard that concept, my immediate reaction was, ‘This is brilliant!’

Later, while narrating the story, he mentioned, ‘This is where the song Inga Enakkena Yaarum Illaye will appear.’ Once again, I felt that same surge of excitement. That particular song is sung for the sake of a romantic interest—a situation where one gets to showcase their singing skills to impress the girl. In reality, if I were to sing, you certainly wouldn’t be impressed! However, the moment I realized that I would be the hero in that specific scene, I decided then and there that I absolutely had to do this film.

As soon as he finished narrating the entire story, I was firmly convinced and committed to doing this project. Subsequently, when he revealed that ‘Anirudh will be composing the music,’ my joy reached a whole new level.

Everyone across India dreams of working with him. Since I am Indian too, I naturally shared that same aspiration. Now, that dream has become a reality. Thanks, brother! It was an absolute pleasure working with you.

Everyone is well aware of his immense talent.” But what I observed is this: he is a truly good human being. To me, anyone with a good heart appears incredibly endearing. In that regard, you strike me as a genuinely good person. I have a strong desire to spend more time with you and to collaborate on many more films together.

Next, Pradeep Raghav—my trusted editor. He has undertaken numerous innovative experiments in this film. Beyond just editing, he provided valuable inputs for the screenplay as well. You are a talent of the highest caliber.

Ravi Varman Sir—a true genius. It would be impossible to craft a futuristic film like this without a cinematographer of your caliber. After witnessing your work, the very scope of my expectations has been completely redefined.

Muthuraj Sir—the opportunity to work alongside such colossal artists on this film is, in itself, a monumental privilege. It is only after watching the finished film that one can truly grasp the full magnitude of your work.

I must share a specific anecdote regarding S.J. Suryah Sir. After completing my college education, I harbored a deep desire to join him as an assistant director. I visited his office and submitted my resume. His response was simply, “You may leave.” However, instead of walking out, I sat down on the steps directly opposite his office—hoping to catch a glimpse of him when he eventually stepped out.

He noticed me and asked, “Who is that young man?” He then invited me inside. I told him, “I wish to join you as an assistant director.” He reiterated, “You’ve already submitted your resume; you may leave now.” Yet, that moment remains etched in my memory as an unforgettable experience. I spoke to him about a short film I had made, and he proceeded to ask me a multitude of questions. He advised me to watch a wide array of world cinema. The questions he posed that day were the very catalyst that transformed the trajectory of my life.

From that day until this very moment, I hold him in the highest esteem. When I was working on my very first story, he was the one I endeavored to cast as the lead actor. Back then, he told me, “You act and narrate stories with great skill; you have a bright future ahead of you.” Those words served as a monumental source of encouragement for me. He played a pivotal role in transforming my life.

It gives me immense joy to be working alongside him in this film today.

Seeman Sir possesses many admirable qualities. The way he treats others with respect—and speaks only on matters that are relevant and appropriate for the person he is addressing—is a truly remarkable trait. Despite his vast knowledge, he never flaunts it; instead, he speaks precisely what needs to be spoken to each individual. I deeply admire this quality of his, and it is something I aspire to learn and adopt myself.

Next, Krithi Shetty—we all know how difficult it is to master a new language. Yet, within just two years, she speaks Tamil beautifully. Going a step further, she has even dubbed for herself in this film. This is a truly remarkable feat, and the hard work she invested to achieve it is highly commendable. Next, Gouri Kishan—I really appreciated your courage and the straightforward manner in which you express your opinions. You are a talented actor. Congratulations!

Malavika Ma’am, Anandaraj Sir, VTV Ganesh, Sara Sir, Sunil Reddy Sir, Rangaraj Pandey Sir, Prashanth Rangaswamy, Abhishek Raja, Deepika, Riya Suman, Ezhilarasan, Albert, and Karthik Karuppu—my sincere thanks to all of you.

This film features a large number of YouTubers and social media influencers in its cast. Mysskin Sir—love you, Sir! Amritha Aiyer—it was a pleasure working with you once again. To our Dance Masters—Baba Bhaskar Sir, Sandy Master, Jolly Master, Satish Master, Suren Master, Anusha Master, and Shakthiel Master—thank you all. And finally, my team—Ramesh, Prashanth, Akshi, Pavithra, and M.S.
[08/04, 16:04] Flowing Fizz: Sekhar — Thank you all for your hard work.

To my producers—Lalith Sir, Nayanthara Ma’am, and Vicky Bro—creating this film was an incredibly challenging endeavor. This was especially true because it is a concept film set in the future, which naturally entails higher production costs. Despite navigating the shifting market dynamics over the past three years, you have successfully brought this film to fruition. Without your unwavering efforts, none of this would have been possible. For that, I offer my heartfelt gratitude.

Actress Krithi Shetty spoke as follows:

It feels a bit daunting to speak right after Pradeep. I feel a certain pressure, wondering if I can possibly live up to the eloquence of his speech. Nevertheless, there are many people I need to thank, so I shall proceed to do just that.

This film holds a very special place in my heart. I truly believe it will stand as one of the most significant projects of my career thus far. I feel an immense sense of gratitude for having had the opportunity to be a part of such a unique film so early in my career.

Vignesh Sir, thank you so much for transforming me into “Theema” and for making me an integral part of this film. Through this project, I had the privilege of working alongside some truly colossal talents—Muthuraj Sir, Pradeep, Ravi Varman Sir… I learned a great deal from each and every one of them.

Everyone keeps telling me that this is, without a doubt, my best look to date. The entire credit for that goes to Ravi Varman Sir’s lighting. It is every actor’s dream to simply be featured within his frames; having had that opportunity brings me immense joy.

Vignesh Sir, no amount of gratitude I express for this film would ever be enough. This will undoubtedly remain one of the most unforgettable films of my career.

Everyone has started calling me “Theema” now. A major share of the credit for that goes to Anirudh as well; that nickname became a reality solely because of that beautiful song. I had actually messaged him on Instagram a few years ago; he has always been my top artist on Spotify. I am incredibly happy to have had the opportunity to work with him now. After watching the film, many people remarked that my performance in the character of “Theema” was remarkably consistent. The entire credit for that goes to Vignesh Sir. The research he conducted and the effort he invested in each character—that is precisely what makes every single one of them stand out as unique.

When we announced that the release date was April 10th, many people teased us, asking, “Will it really come out?” However, the reason for this delay was simply our desire to deliver the absolute best film we possibly could. I have witnessed firsthand the immense hard work that went into every single minute detail. What captivated me most about this film was that meticulous attention to detail—the sheer effort poured into every single aspect of the production. For that, I bow down in respect to everyone who worked on this film.

Pradeep—I feel immense pride watching your journey. When this film first began, Love Today hadn’t been released yet. But now, you have become a major star. It is a status you truly deserve. You have proven that you are not merely an actor, but a genuine star.

Gouri—You are a true “girls’ girl.” On set, you were always supportive of me and made sure that I felt comfortable at all times. It was an absolute joy working with you. Malavika Ma’am—Working alongside you was a wonderful experience.

S.J. Suryah Sir—I am a huge fan of yours; I’ve admired your work ever since Maanaadu. Even back when I was working with Venkat Prabhu Sir, I remember asking for an opportunity to meet you just once. To now have had the privilege of working alongside you is a tremendous honor for me. More importantly, I had the opportunity to witness firsthand the sheer dedication with which you approach and craft a character. That was an incredibly enriching experience for me. My sincere thanks go out to everyone who worked on this film. Please celebrate this movie! Thank you. Director Vignesh Shivan spoke as follows:

“This stage is incredibly important to me. It is not merely the fact that I am standing here, but also the position I currently hold in my life—neither of these came easily. I have reached this point only through sheer hard work. God grants a good life to everyone. When I visit a temple, I do not go to ask, ‘Give me more.’ Rather, I go solely to offer thanks for all the blessings I have already received. Perhaps that is why—even during my most difficult times—I was blessed with good food, a good home, a wonderful family, a loving wife, lovely children, loyal friends, and an excellent team; I received all of these.

It may appear as though I am the only person standing on this stage. But in reality, I am not alone; there are many people standing right alongside me. I once received an opportunity to direct a major film. When that project fell through, it felt akin to a wedding being called off at the very last moment. Recovering from such a situation is incredibly difficult. During that period, everyone would advise me, ‘Do something small; keep it simple.’ In a way, such advice felt like being underestimated. However, I have placed my faith in just one thing: the unique connection I share with the audience—the people who walk into the theaters to watch my films. That is the bedrock of my hope. I believe that on April 10th, that hope will be vindicated.

I feel compelled to invite a few specific individuals to stand here on this stage alongside me. First, Mr. Mayilvaganam. Back when I was working as an assistant director…”
On that occasion, he gave me a batta (daily allowance) of 150 rupees. However, although the voucher listed 150, he handed me only 100 rupees in cash. That was the moment I made a decision: “Someday, he must become a producer.” That very day, I saved his contact number as “Mayilvaganam – Producer.” Today, he is indeed a producer. This was my conviction—

A thought I held close to my heart.

Initially, this film was planned with a budget of 150 to 200 crores. However, things did not unfold that way. We encountered numerous hurdles. During that period, I made a small, simple film. Later, one day, I received the opportunity to direct the Chess Olympiad event. At that time, we transformed the Napier Bridge into a black-and-white spectacle for the shoot. That night, I was struck by a distinct feeling: “This feature film will definitely happen.” Do you know what the greatest blessing for a director is? It is the ability to bring their thoughts to life on the screen. If they desire rain, rain falls; if they wish to stop it, they can.

They can turn dreams into reality. This film is no different. The Chennai I wished to see, the future I envisioned—I have encapsulated it all within this movie.

Throughout this journey, there were moments when everything changed overnight. From that time until today, there are a few individuals who have stood by me with unwavering faith. To me, these people are not merely a “team”; they are individuals who believed in my dream. I am confident that, in the future, each and every one of them will reach great heights.

I messaged Pradeep, requesting, “I’d like to meet you and narrate a story.” He replied, “Okay.” When I went and narrated the story, he absolutely loved it. The very next day, he gave the green light, saying, “Let’s do it.” However, subsequently, various production-related aspects failed to fall into place. It involved a massive budget, and the project kept getting delayed—delay after delay. Since that film eventually fell through, I was left feeling deeply distressed. After leaving that meeting, I convinced myself that, come what may, I had to make this film with him. Even though he received other major offers at that time, he turned them down for my sake and stood by me. I will remain grateful to you for that, Pradeep, for the rest of my life. I love you.

Furthermore—regarding the way he performed in this film—we were shooting a pivotal interval sequence in Delhi. It was a deeply emotional scene. At that very moment, there was absolute chaos outside—fighting, shouting, and commotion. Our team on the set was grappling with these disturbances. Under such circumstances, any other actor would typically say, “I need to concentrate.” But Pradeep, understanding the gravity of the situation, gave take after take, kept saying, “We can do this, bro,” and successfully completed the scene. In that moment, he didn’t just work as an actor; he worked like a director, empathizing with my struggle. Even now, whenever I watch that interval sequence, I think to myself: “If we could deliver such a performance amidst such chaos, then anything is possible.” He is incredibly gifted and immensely talented—as a writer, a director, and an actor. I have learned so much from him. He helped me refine my craft. Sometimes, I tend to veer off into experimental territory; however, he always stays true to the right rhythm—the perfect beat—and he brings me back to that rhythm as well.

Next, Anirudh… Whenever I say something nice about him, he never quite accepts the compliment. Yet, I will say what needs to be said. One day, when I was completely broke, I decided to go to Pondicherry to write a script. All I had with me was 200 rupees—just enough for a bus ticket. So, I left. Shortly thereafter, he sent me a message that read: “I’ve tucked 50,000 rupees inside your bag.” Without my knowledge, he had placed money inside my bag. To this day, I cannot forget the moment I broke down in tears during that bus journey. It is not just his music; he, as a human being, is a tremendous gift to me. It is a matter of great pride for me to have the opportunity to work alongside such an eminent composer on a regular basis.

Subsequently, regarding the production of this film—

We were scheduled to shoot in Malaysia. Everything was ready. However, the stock market crashed, leading to budget constraints. We were told, “We need to scale back on certain aspects.” Yet, I made a firm decision: “I will not shoot a single frame that does not align with my original vision.” At that point, it was uncertain whether the shoot would even take place. But ultimately, we went ahead. The filming took place in Malaysia. It was only then that I realized—that all the funds utilized were actually the advance payment received for the film Mookuthi Amman—and I truly understood the immense struggle and effort that went into bringing this film to life. A major reason for this success was Nayanthara. The support she provided—both as a wife and as a producer—was monumental. Typically, she does not attend events of this nature. However, for this film, she personally oversaw every detail; she arrived two days in advance to ensure everything was perfectly set up. I am not even sure where she is right now… but the contribution she made to this film is immense, and I offer her my heartfelt gratitude. I am confident that this film will delight each and every one of you. Thank you.
