Happy Tamil New Year! ‘Aruvadai’ is a film that explores the concepts of action and reaction.
‘Aruvadai’ is a film starring, produced, and directed by Karthigesan—known for his work in the movie ‘Lara’.
In the realms of spirituality and philosophy, the concept of ‘Karma’ is widely discussed. According to this principle, “Whatever thoughts or energy you project—whether good or bad—will eventually return to you.” In short, it asserts: “As you sow, so shall you reap.”
From a scientific perspective, Newton’s Third Law addresses this very subject, stating: “For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.”
The film ‘Aruvadai’ centers precisely on this concept: the reaction that follows every action.
‘Aruvadai’ is a film crafted around the core premise that “he who sows the seeds of action will inevitably reap the consequences.” Thus, the title ‘Aruvadai’ (meaning ‘Harvest’) serves as a metaphor for the reaction or consequence that stems from an action.
This film, ‘Aruvadai’, has been produced by M. Karthigesan under the banner of M.K. Film Media Works Pvt. Ltd. Not only did he direct the movie, but he also took on the lead role as the film’s protagonist.
He had previously produced the film ‘Lara’, in which his portrayal of a police officer garnered significant attention. As an actor, he also captured the spotlight for his performance as a villain in the film ‘Ondimuni’.
For this film:
Premkumar Murugesan has handled the cinematography. Raghu Sravan Kumar has composed the music, and K.K. Vignesh has served as the editor. Speaking about this film, actor, producer, and director Karthigesan stated:
“I would say that this film, Aruvadai, has turned out exceptionally well; the actors involved truly lived their respective characters. Simran Raj, who plays the female lead, is sure to garner significant attention following this film.
We filmed certain scenes deep within forests where even vehicles could not access. Despite the difficulties involved—particularly regarding costume changes—the film’s heroine, Simran Raj, remained unperturbed and offered her full cooperation.
She would arrive at the shoot punctually, without a moment’s delay. This discipline and professionalism of hers will undoubtedly establish her as an indispensable leading actress in Tamil cinema.
She has a bright future ahead. Actor Gajaraj has delivered a stellar performance in a role unlike any he has undertaken before. ‘Paruthiveeran’ Saravanan completely transformed into his character; the scenes are crafted in such a way that his wealth of experience shines through in his acting.
During the film’s climax fight sequence, actor Raja Simman unexpectedly sustained an injury. We initially decided to halt the shoot for the day; however, Raja Simman insisted that we not stop—assuring us that he would recover shortly—and the filming subsequently continued. He, too, delivered an excellent performance in that fight sequence. Similarly,
the character portrayed by Babus Baburaj is bound to become a talking point among the audience. I can never forget the immense cooperation and dedication shown by all these talented artists who performed for us.
I had previously played a role in Lara, a film I produced myself, which garnered appreciation from the media. Subsequently, the film Ondimuni—in which I acted as a lead—earned me a good reputation as an actor. If I come across compelling scripts and well-written characters, I will certainly continue to act.
As for the film’s technical crew, every single member has executed their duties with exceptional skill. Given how beautifully the film has turned out, the entire team is currently in high spirits,” he concluded. Post-production technical refinement work for the film ‘Aruvadai’ is currently underway. The audio and trailer launch ceremony for the film is scheduled to take place shortly.
The film crew is working diligently with plans to release the movie to coincide with the summer holidays.
