Producer Kalaipuli Thanu Unveils First Look Poster of the Film ‘Kanganam’
Produced by Kalyani K and Chiranjan K.G. under the banner of Kalyani E Enterprises, ‘Kanganam’ is a film written and directed by A. Isaiyarasan. A trained alumnus of the National School of Drama (NSD) and the South Zone Cultural Centre (SZCC), Isaiyarasan previously directed the short film ‘En Kanne,’ which garnered five awards.
The film features Koothu-p-pattarai Soundar as the male lead, while Ashwini Chandrasekar and Prana star as the female leads. ‘Paruthiveeran’ Saravanan plays a pivotal supporting role, and Pan-India actor Sampath Ram portrays the antagonist. The supporting cast includes a host of actors such as Vijay TV Ramar, Sethupathi, Jayachandran, Kayal Mani, K.M. Pari Vallal, ‘Ratsasan’ Yasar, Archana Mariappan, Sri Mahesh, and Chiranjan K.G.
Yugabharathi has penned the lyrics for the film’s songs, with music composed by Selva. Thameem Ansari has scored the background music. G.A. Sivasundar handled the cinematography, while Jo. Jayabalan served as the editor. The choreography was handled by Dina and Joy Mathi.
Speaking about the film, Director Isaiyarasan stated, “The story is crafted with a strong social consciousness, depicting three distinct forces—the protagonist seeking vengeance for a tragedy inflicted upon his family by the villain; Saravanan, seeking retribution for the ultimate humiliation he suffered at the hands of the villain; and a group of Dalit youths fighting against the oppression and atrocities committed against their community—as they converge from three different directions in their quest for justice.”
The film was shot over a period of approximately 56 days across various locations, including Melur, Theni, Adirampattinam, Pudukkottai, and Chennai. “In this film, we have cast theater artists Boomi Rajan and Banda Pasupathi. An announcement regarding the film’s release date will be made very soon,” he stated.
Currently, producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu has unveiled the first-look poster for the film Kanganam. Following this, Director Ameer, actor Sathyaraj, actress Rohini, and Dr. S. Asif Ali—owner of Thanjavur Maharaja Readymades—are scheduled to successively release subsequent posters for Kanganam.
