Mr. A. Jamal Sahib, the producer behind the film Visiri (which predicted that Thalapathy Vijay would soon assume political power—even before the actor had launched his political party), is producing this film once again: Poo Kaai Kani.

This film tells the story of a rural romance set in the 1986 era, presented through a unique three-dimensional narrative perspective.

The film is directed by Vettriveeran Mahalingam, the filmmaker known for movies such as Arumbu Meesai Kurumbu Paarvai, Vennila Veedu, and Visiri.

He recently completed directing Suitcase—a film starring Vijay TV’s Pugazh alongside cast members from the popular web series Ayali.
This film, too, is slated for release very soon.

Furthermore, Poo Kaai Kani is his current project—a film he has both written and directed, steeped entirely in the authentic essence of rural life. The director, whose very film titles speak volumes of poetry, assures us that this movie, too, will undoubtedly feature a beautiful screenplay that touches the heart.

Rajeswari Vetriveeran, who served as the Executive Producer for the film Suitcase, is now producing Poo Kaai Kani under the banner of Palayanur Santhanam Film Company.

KCP Mithun Chakravarthy makes his debut as the lead protagonist in Poo Kaai Kani.

He has previously starred as the lead in independent music albums such as Adiye Vellazhagi and Yen Ennai Kaadhalicha.

Furthermore, it is noteworthy that he has undergone comprehensive training specifically tailored for the role of a lead actor.

Next, playing a pivotal role that serves as the central core of the story is…

Santhosh Nambirajan—the lead actor of the globally acclaimed, multi-award-winning film To Let—who will be portraying the character Malaikallan (The Mountain Bandit).

Manasi, who began her career as a child artist and has appeared in numerous successful films, takes her next significant step forward in Poo Kaai Kani by starring as the female lead. She is the daughter of actor Kottachi.

Raju Mahalingam—the son of Poo Kaai Kani director Vetriveeran Mahalingam—has been lending his voice as a dubbing artist since the age of five, contributing to films such as Pushpa, Rayan, and Jawan.

He previously played the role of the villain Ashwin’s son in the film Dhanal, starring Atharvaa.

In Poo Kaai Kani, he will be portraying the childhood version of the protagonist.

Additionally, several other prominent actors and actresses are slated to appear in the film.

As a further highlight, following films like Mayan and Virumaandi, this project will feature the participation of over ten actors who have received their professional training at the renowned Koothu-p-pattarai. Cinematographer: P.G. Muthiah
