National Award-winning actor-director Rishab Shetty has revealed that he is a long time Spider-Man fan. Ahead of the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the Kantara star featured in a special video celebrating the iconic Marvel superhero. In the clip, Rishab unexpectedly crosses paths with Spider-Man before sharing his admiration for the superhero, a character he says has been a favourite for years.
Rishab, who earned widespread acclaim for Kantara and has since become one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated actors, brings his own enthusiasm as a fan to the collaboration. The video arrives just days before Spider-Man: Brand New Day opens in cinemas, offering audiences a crossover moment between one of Indian cinema’s biggest stars and one of the world’s most enduring superheroes.
Speaking about his love for Spider-Man, Rishab said, “I still remember watching Spider-Man for the first time in a single-screen theatre many years ago and instantly connecting with Peter Parker. He has always reminded me that it’s okay to stumble, make mistakes, and even experience heartbreak, as long as we never lose the goodness within us.”
The Kantara actor added, “Spider-Man also teaches us that with great power comes great responsibility, and that lesson stays relevant no matter how old you are. Over the years, my love for Spider-Man has only grown stronger, and today, he’s just as special to my children. In fact, they’ve already made me book tickets for Spider-Man: Brand New Day so we can all experience it together on the big screen.”
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to release on 30th July in India. The Tom Holland starrer will release in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
