Following Samaniyan, actor Ramarajan plays lead role in yet another socio-commercial film

‘Ramarajan 46’ deals with a serious social issue

Actor Ramarajan, one of the most celebrated and Top-notch actor of 80s and 90s, who consistently delivered blockbuster hits owns a larger fan base. After a long hiatus, the actor is making his comeback in lead role through the movie ‘Saamaniyan’. While the project is wrapped up, the actor has decided to act continuously in many films.

One among them is Producer Dheenadayalan’s 7 Artry Film Factory’s new production. Tentatively titled ‘Ramarajan 46’, the film is directed by debutant Karthik Kumar V, the script writer of Saamaniyan. He embarks on his directorial journey through this movie. `

Producer Mathiyalagan of Etcetera Entertainment, who is now producing Saamaniyan, makes his debut as actor through ‘Ramarajan 46’ by playing the villain role.

Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja, who has composed music for Saamaniyan strikes his musical chords again for this movie, which features cinematography by debutant Richard Franklin. Karthik will be overseeing the editing works for this movie.

Sharing his thoughts about this film, director Karthik Kumar V says, “It’s great to see the iconic actor Ramarajan making his acting comeback nearly after 14 years of interval. While he was looking for unique scripts, and liked my work for Saamaniyan. He decided to be a part of the project banking his trust on the story.

Soon after completing the film, he came forward stating that he is ready to do next movie, and asked if I have got any scripts. He completely liked the story during my narration, and immediately decided to be a part of it. After seeing my co-directorial approach for Saamaniyan, he suggested that it would be nice If I am directing this film. His encouraging words prompted me to direct this movie, thereby kick-starting my directorial dream through this project.”

“Basically, I am a story writer alone, and have no experience as assistant director. I have been a story consultant in many movies. At the same time, the transition from script writer to director isn’t a complicated task as it will be easy to execute the whole process as I have journeyed along with the script for many days.”

The story of Saamaniyan is based on my painful experience in 2018, and Ramarajan sir looked perfect for this role. However, while writing the script for this particular film, I had Ramarajan sir in my mind while designing the protagonist’s character. This film revolves around a serious social issue faced by our people of today’s society. Nonetheless, there wouldn’t be any similarities between Saamaniyan and this movie.

Ramarajan sir will be seen in a completely different role from what he has done so far. He is playing the role of an advocate in this movie. I am completely aware of his motto and desires pertaining to the acting career, and I have designed his character in the same manner for this movie.

I am a hard core fan of director Shankar sir for his movies always have a social issue as the backdrop, which is narrated with grandeur. I would like to follow the same pattern by narrating stories based on social awareness, but in grand manner.

Although I have debuted as a director in this film, I am always proud to say that I am a story writer. In the Malayalam film world, next to the director, the scriptwriter is given the most importance. My interest is that there should be a lot of story writers in Tamil film industry.

Since I have written the script and directing this film, we are holding talks and discussing with Madan Karky to handle the dialogues. Once the dialogue works are completed, we will start shooting the film from this August. We are approaching Meena and few more leading actresses to play the female lead role in this movie.

Currently, we are preparing the film’s pooja along with a teaser work. Soon after the teaser shoot, we will be approaching Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja sir. We will be revealing the title, first look and teaser soon.”
